Two Sex Offenders Register to Live as Transients in Thurston County

Two sex offenders indicated they will be living as transients in Thurston County by registering with the sheriff’s office.

Antonio Arias, a 27-year-old level two sex offender, pleaded guilty in 2009 to third-degree assault domestic violence and third-degree rape in Thurston County Superior Court. The convictions stems from Arias between 20 and 22 having consensual sex with a known girl who was between the age of 14 and 16 at the time of the relationship. Arias was sentenced to a year in prison.

Arias is described as a 5-foot-8, 200-pound hispanic male. He has brown hair and blue eyes.

The second sex offender who recently registered as a transient is Chad M. Petersen, a 28-year-old, level one sex offender. Petersen pleaded guilty in Thurston County Juvenile Court in 1999 to one count of attempted indecent liberties with forcible compulsion for Petersen, at age 13, sexually assaulting a known 12-year-old girl. He was sentenced to 129 weeks of confinement.



He is described as 6-foot-3, 200-pound white male with brown hair and hazel eyes.

A general public notification occurs when an offender registers to live as transient.
