Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic Booked with Riders

Posted

An expected 10,000 bicyclists will come through Lewis County July 14 and 15 for the 32nd annual Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic.

The 200-mile bike ride is the Northwest’s largest multi-day event, which can be completed in one or two days.

The Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic filled its quota of 10,000 participants on Feb. 21, but according to the Cascade Bicycle Club, which organizes the event, those still interested in registering will have last-minute opportunities.

The Cascade Bicycle Club expects to have some refunds that would open up spots for other interested cyclists. The club suggests people sign up for their email updates at www.cascade.org or check their blog at www.blog.cascade.org for possible openings.

The club will also auction off some registrations on Ebay to raise money for their non-profit organization based in Seattle.

The Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic has grown in popularity since it began 32 years ago. Last year riders came from 42 states, Canada and England.
