Lewis County Tea Party to Host Candidate Forum

The Lewis County Tea Party on Thursday, at 6:30 p.m., will host a candidate debate at the Lewis and Clark Hotel in Centralia.

Candidates will include: John Elmore, an incumbent running unopposed for the Centralia City Council, District 2 seat; Bonnie Canaday, Centralia’s current mayor who is running for reelection; Dennis Dawes, an incumbent running for the at-large position on the Chehalis City Council; Lonnie Dowell, a candidate for mayor of Winlock; Don Taylor, a candidate for position 2 on the Salkum-Silver Creek Fire District No. 8; Ellen Munson, a candidate for Napavine School District No. 14, District 2 director; Ronald Greenwood, a candidate for Centralia City Council, District 1; Amy Buzzard, a candidate for Centralia School District No. 401; LaVerne Haslett, a candidate who is running unopposed for Napavine City Council Position 2; and Patrick Gallagher, a candidate for Centralia City Council, District 3 seat.

According to Tea Party President Bruce Brown, each candidate will give a five-minute talk and participate in a question and answer session.



Discussion will be geared toward the Tea Party’s concerns, which include fiscal responsibility, limited government and free markets.
