Toledo, Tenino to Host Nashville Country Star Qualifiers

A qualifier for the Washington State Nashville Country Star event will be held noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at Toledo High School and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, at Tenino High School. Other similar qualifiers are being held in Bonney Lake, Wenatchee, Yakima and Okanogan. The Toledo qualifier is being hosted by Melissa Carney and her daughter, Kaitee Carney. Kaitee previously participated in the event.

The competition is open to all Washington state high school and home-schooled students in grades 9-12. Any song may be sung at the auditions.

 The quarterfinal for Western Washington performers will be Feb. 28 in Bonney Lake. The state semifinal will be March 14 in Okanogan, and the championship final March 28 in Omak. First prize in the final round is $1,500.
