The public hospital district that owns Morton General Hospital, Randle Clinic and Riffe Medical Center has adopted the parent name “Arbor Health” and plans to celebrate next Saturday with a grand opening.

“We are trying to pull out all the stops to make it fun for the whole family,” said Director of Marketing and Development Diane Markham.

The event will include various shows and displays from White Pass and Mossyrock High Schools, children’s face painting, door prizes, refreshments, area elementary students’ artwork, a quilt show, a Cowlitz River Salmon Hatchery display and a Department of Fish & Wildlife mobile TIP display.

In addition, there will be a Fire Mountain Children’s Theater performance at 2 p.m. and a Washington State Patrol car seat safety check at 2:30 p.m.

The hospital hosted community receptions in November 2018 to hear feedback from the public regarding the parent name adoption.

“We had some turnout at all of them, not a large turnout, but we were really glad that we had them,” Markham said.

Arbor Health, Morton Hospital — previously Morton General Hospital — is a public hospital district. The district also owns Arbor Health, Randle Clinic (previously just Randle Clinic) and Arbor Health, Mossyrock Clinic (previously Riffe Medical Center).

The reception will take place at Arbor Health, Morton Hospital, located at 521 Adams Avenue in Morton, from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12.
