Centralia College is holding its 25th Annual Job Fair on May 2 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the TransAlta Commons. The event is free and open to students, graduates and community members looking for employment. There will be 60 employers at the event.

The employers are looking for part-time, full-time and seasonal workers and all plan to hire within six months. Almost half of the employers are new to the event.

“Many businesses are using the fair to interview potential employees on the spot,” said Monica Brummer, coordinator of the job fair in a press release. “One business is hoping to recruit 20 employees.”

Job seekers should come with their resume and dress in business attire.

The college will hold resume workshops this month for people who want to update their resumes. New employers include A Glass Enterprise, Braun Northwest, Eugenia Center, Fastenal, Gardner Trucking, Merit Logistics, Sierra Pacific, Sorenson Transport Co., Starbucks and Title Guaranty. There will also be six additional new healthcare businesses.

“We recruited employers who match the college’s programs,” Brummer said in the press release.

“Businesses will be recruiting diesel mechanics, welders, medical assistants, business managers, accountants, educators, and law enforcement personnel, to name a few.”
