Annual Dance Festival Northwest Scheduled for March 21

The Southwest Washington Dance Center will host its 28th annual Dance Festival Northwest at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 21 at the Corbet Theatre at Centralia College.

“Each year, Dance Festival Northwest brings dance companies from around the Pacific Northwest to the Centralia area. The dancers attend Master Dance Classes together as a group and then each individual company performs dance pieces that they have prepared, at a fabulous performance at Corbet Theatre in Centralia. This year you will see very diverse forms of dance performed; from contemporary and classical ballet on pointe, modern/contemporary dance, ballroom, tap and Hip Hop,” according to a news release from the Southwest Washington Dance Center. 

The host company, under the direction of Danielle Brosco, is Southwest Washington Dance Ensemble from Chehalis.   

Guest professional company PDX Contemporary Ballet from Portland, Oregon, will also perform. 



Visiting companies this year include, Ballet Northwest, from Olympia; Centralia Ballet, from Centralia; Dance! West Seattle, from Seattle; Evergreen City Ballet, from Renton; Harbor Dance Ballet Company, from Gig Harbor; Johansen Olympia Dance Center, from Olympia; Olympic Ballroom Dance, from Olympia; Studio West Dance Academy and Dance Theatre, from Olympia. 

Tickets are available online at www.swwdance.org, Book ‘n Brush in Chehalis, the Southwest Washington Dance Center at 437 N. Market Blvd., Chehalis and at the door. Tickets cost $15 for adults, $10 for seniors (62-plus), students, military and children.
