Animal Care Seminar Will Be at Chehalis Moose Lodge

A free animal care seminar will be offered 1-4 p.m. Saturday at the Chehalis Moose Lodge, 1400 Grand Ave., Centralia.

The seminar is being presented by Dr. Everett Macomber, past president of the American Veterinary Medical Association and retired Twin Cities veterinarian.

Saturday’s seminar is for owners of all livestock species, including horses, cattle, sheep, goats, llamas, pigs and poultry.

Topics will include:

• respiratory conditions of all livestock (bacterial, viral and environmental)

• judicious use of antibiotics by veterinarians and how antibiotics work

• immune systems and vaccination recommendations



• developing emergency plans for relocation or care of animals during fires or floods

• winter nutritional needs for livestock

• feeding supplements as part of an animal diet

The seminar is sponsored by the Washington State Livestock Coalition and the Thurston County Farm Bureau.
