Editor’s Best Bet CC Professor to Speak About Constitutional Rights in Dealing With Police
On Wednesday, Centralia College professor Greg Gilbertson will share a brief synopsis of our constitutional rights and responsibilities when interacting with police officers in common situations that include traffic stops, pedestrian stops, “knock and talks,” self-defense scenarios, neighbor complaints and criminal investigations.
This lyceum presentation will include a brief analysis of the First, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth amendments to the U.S. Constitution and how these rights apply to everyday life.
Weekly lyceum lectures are presented 1-1:50 p.m. Wednesdays in Washington Hall 103 and are free and open to the public. Lyceum may also be taken as a one-credit Humanities course.

‘Frankenstein,’ ‘Dracula’ Coming to Fox Theatre
Historic Fox Theatre Restorations will be showing a double feature at 2 and 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Fox Theatre in downtown Centralia.
On the screen at both times will be the 1931 classics “Frankenstein” and “Dracula.”
“Frankenstein”: An obsessed scientist, Dr. Henry Frankenstein (Colin Clive), attempts to create life by assembling a creature from body parts of the deceased. Aided by his loyal misshapen assistant, Fritz (Dwight Frye), Frankenstein succeeds in animating his monster (Boris Karloff), but, confused and traumatized, it escapes into the countryside and begins to wreak havoc. Frankenstein searches for the elusive being, and eventually must confront his tormented creation. The film is rated PG.
“Dracula”: After a harrowing ride through the Carpathian mountains in eastern Europe, Renfield enters castle Dracula to finalize the transferral of Carfax Abbey in London to Count Dracula, who is in actuality a vampire. Renfield is drugged by the eerily hypnotic count, and turned into one of his thralls, protecting him during his sea voyage to London.
After sucking the blood and turning the young Lucy Weston into a vampire, Dracula turns his attention to her friend Mina Seward, daughter of Dr. Seward, who then calls in a specialist, Dr. Van Helsing, to diagnose the sudden deterioration of Mina’s health. Van Helsing, realizing that Dracula is indeed a vampire, tries to prepare Mina’s fiance, John Harker, and Dr. Seward for what is to come and the measures that will have to be taken to prevent Mina from becoming one of the undead.
Admission for both movies is $10 per person, $8 for members and $25 per family (three to four persons).
Presale tickets are available locally at Book ‘n’ Brush in Chehalis; Holley’s Place, HUBBUB, Santa Lucia Coffee and PostNet in Centralia; and online at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2590206.
