Alpha Grange Has Bingo, Dancing

Bingo and dancing are on the agenda today at Alpha Grange near Onalaska.

Organizers say the Grange will have bingo starting at 4 p.m. today, and lasting until the prizes are gone. Admission is two cans of food for the local food bank.

Beginning at 9 p.m., the Grange will hold its annual St. Patrick's Day dance. Live music will be provided by Tom Park and the Newaukum Revival. Organizers say there will be refreshments available, and there will be a bake sale during the event. Telephone 978-4517 for information.

Lewis County School Retirees' Association

The next meeting of the Lewis County School Retirees' Association will begin at 11:30 a.m. Monday with a soup and salad buffet at the Centralia Eagles Lodge on North Pearl Street.

Two guests are scheduled to speak - Susan Lamoreaux, director of Volunteer Services for Lewis County, and Olive Hull, a representative on the Washington State School Retirees' Association executive board.



Items of business will include a report on the classroom grants to ten active Lewis County teachers, officers for the new business year, and preliminary plans for the June convention.

Organizers say any retired school employee is invited to attend LCSRA meetings.

Lewis County Genealogical Society

Genealogy research and resources available at the state library will be discussed during a meeting of the Lewis County Genealogical Society Tuesday at 7 p.m. Kathryn Devine and Lynne Red of the Washington State Library will be the guest speakers.

New officers for the year are Dick Stevens, president; Victoria Stewart, first vice president; Gayle Stevens, second vice president; Joann Hulse, secretary; and Linda Patton, treasurer.

The society meets at the Lewis County Historical Museum, Chehalis. Organizers say visitors are welcome.
