Former Miss Lewis County to Compete at Miss America Pageant

A former Miss Lewis County titleholder will be competing in the Miss America Scholarship Pageant in September representing a different state.

Jordyn Hall, who won the local title in 2012, was recently crowned Miss Wyoming. She will travel to Atlantic City in September in hopes of another crown.

Hall was born and raised in Lewis County. She attended Centralia High School, where she was a cheerleader, and was also involved in drama productions and school government. She attended Centralia College for two years and then transferred to the University of Wyoming after she decided she wanted to experience an out-of-state school.

“Since winning Miss Lewis County 2012 I have been busy living the cowboy life in Laramie, Wyoming,” Hall said in an email to The Chronicle.

After she moved to Laramie she joined the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and became involved with a local soup kitchen. During her second year in Wyoming, she joined the Theta Eta chapter of Delta Delta Delta and also became a dancer on the university’s The Golden Spurs dance team.

“While apart of these organizations I received the opportunity to travel the state of Wyoming and participate in many fundraising events for the university and for Tri Delta’s national philanthropy, St. Jude’s Research Hospital,” Hall said.

Hall has learned a lot from the Miss America organization, something the Miss Lewis County Scholarship Pageant helped her get involved with. During the five years she has been competing in the system, she has taken away strong interview skills that will help her in the working world, she said.

After competing for the Miss Wyoming title for three years, Hall was crowned the winner.

“It is unbelievable,” she said. “I guess third time is the charm.”

Now getting ready for the Miss America Scholarship Pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Hall said it takes both mental and physical preparation.

“Not only am I having mock interviews each week to make sure I am fully ready for my 10 minute interview with judges, but I am working out and eating clean to make sure I am prepared for national television,” she said.

Hall has scheduled a meet-and-greet at The Station Coffee Bar and Bistro in Centralia to show the people of Lewis County how grateful she is for the support she has received.

“Centralia is my hometown and is full of wonderful people that have supported me since day one,” she said. “I really wanted the chance to say thank you and hello to all those that are excited to see me go on to Miss America, no matter what I am representing.”

Hall will also hold a fundraiser car wash on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Halls Pharmacy, 505 S. Tower Ave., Centralia.
