Woman, Small Child Injured in Crash Caused by Driver Suspected of Narcotics Use

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office says a driver under the influence of narcotics is being processed for vehicular assault charges after a serious collision on Tilley Road near 171st Avenue just north of Old Highway 99 in Grand Mound this morning.

A vehicle crossed the center line and struck an oncoming vehicle head on, causing injuries to the female driver and a small child, according to the sheriff’s office.

Both are expected to survive.

As of about 9:30 a.m., Tilley Road between 171st and Old Highway 99 were expected to be closed for a few hours.
