Thomas Burton makes an appearance in Lewis County Superior Court Thursday afternoon in Chehalis.
A 41-year-old Winlock man was charged Thursday in Lewis County Superior Court with molesting a 10-year-old girl.
Thomas R. Burton made his first appearance on the first-degree child molestation charge Thursday. He was granted $25,00 bail.
According to court documents, deputies were notified on Wednesday by the Lewis County Youth Advocacy Center of a report of child molestation.
The alleged victim reported that Burton, while wrestling with her and other children, touched her in a sexual manner.
She also reported that Burton told her “she cannot tell anyone because he would have to go away for a long time,” and said Burton told her that “if she told anyone he will hurt her,” according to court documents.
When interviewed by deputies, Burton reportedly denied the allegation.
