A birthday celebration went awry for former Miss Lewis County Marisa Hall Saturday night when police responded to reports that she was in a bar just before her actual 21st birthday while in possession of a fake ID.

The Chehalis Police Department reported Monday  Hall was cited and released on charges including being a minor in possession of alcohol and having a fake ID. On Tuesday, the police department told The Chronicle she was actually referred to prosecutors for potential charges.

Hall’s attorney, Shane O’Rourke, told the Chronicle his client disputes the statements allegedly made to officers.

According to the Chehalis Police Department, a woman called police at 11:54 p.m. and reported a girl she knew, Hall, was turning 21 at midnight but was currently drinking in a bar in the 300 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue with a fake identification that said she was 22.

Officers arrived and arrested Hall on suspicion of being a minor frequenting an off-limit area, misrepresentation of age, unlawful possession of an identification card and minor in possession of alcohol.

“She, according to the report, kept saying, ‘Do you know who I am? I used to be Miss Lewis County,’ ” said Linda Bailey, spokesperson for the Chehalis Police Department.
