Two people escaped without injuries but were transported to Providence Centralia Hospital for treatment for possible smoke inhalation after a fire that damaged a Centralia home Monday morning.

At 6:45 a.m. on Monday, crews from the Riverside Fire Authority responded to a report of a fire in the 800 block of J Street.

More than one 911 caller reported the fire, according to the RFA.

Crews arrived to find smoke coming from the house and flames in the house’s living area.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and searched the house for victims. Two residents were in the house when the fire started and escaped before firefighters arrived.

The home has extensive smoke damage and two rooms were damaged by the fire itself.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The Chehalis Fire Department also responded.
