In the first incident, A 42-year-old Tenino man was killed in a four-vehicle collision reported at 6:15 a.m. on state Route 12 in Thurston County Friday morning.

The Washington State Patrol, did not immediately release the man’s name, pending notification of next of kin.

According to state patrol press release, a 2008 Infinity G35 — driven by the Tenino man — was travelling westbound on SR 12 near milepost 40. It collided with an eastbound 2002 Ford F350, driven by an Oakville man.

The vehicles collided in the eastbound lane, the press release indicates.

The truck then came into contact with a 2001 Chevy Impala driven by a Rochester man, and a 2012 Honda Civic driven by a Centralia woman struck debris from the collision.

None of the other involved drivers were injured.

WSP said the cause of the collision, including whether drugs or alcohol played a role, is under investigation.

The roadway was blocked for three hours and 34 minutes.

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office is also investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash reported at around 8:40 a.m. Friday morning in south Thurston County.

Capt. Lanette Dyer, public information officer with West Thurston Fire Authority, confirmed one male occupant of the vehicle was found deceased. The sheriff’s office announced on social media Friday the person’s identity was pending identification.

Dyer said nobody witnessed the crash, but someone saw its aftermath. A single vehicle appeared to have gone off the road in the 8100 block of Littlerock Road Southwest.

She said the vehicle wasn’t immediately noticeable from the roadway.
