Trial For Fiancé of Accused Murderer Pushed Back to March

The trial of Emma Brown, the Glenoma woman accused of misleading authorities as they investigated the death of Randle teen Benjamin Eastman III, was pushed back to March during an omnibus hearing Thursday afternoon.

The previous trial date was fast approaching, as it was slated to start the week of Jan. 28. Now, Brown is scheduled to face trial the week of March 11, with a confirmation hearing on March 7.

Brown appeared out of custody with attorney Jakob McGhie.

Authorities identified Brown as the fiancé of accused murderer Jonathan Adamson, and say she wasn’t forthcoming when interviewed about the homicide. Adamson and his brother, Benito Marquez, are both charged in Eastman’s death. Court documents indicate that authorities believe Brown knew of the homicide shortly after it happened, but claimed otherwise to authorities.

She’s charged with two counts of first-degree rendering criminal assistance. Adamson and Marquez’s mother, Kindra Adamson, was charged with the same counts, and documents detail a similar story as the allegations against Brown. Kindra Adamson has since pleaded guilty to both, and will likely take the stand for the state as they build a case against her sons — a stipulation of her plea bargain.

Adamson has a jury trial set for April 15, and Marquez for April 1.
