Trial for Centralia Man Charged in Grand Mound Shooting Pushed Back to December

The jury trial of Adan Sanchez, the Centralia man charged with shooting and killing Pedro Beltran Palomares in March, was continued to Dec. 2, 2019.

The trial had previously been set for Sept. 9., but was pushed back after prosecutors requested a later date — and with no argument from the defense.

Sanchez, 37, is accused of shooting Palomares, 27, in Grand Mound after an argument between the two escalated inside the home of a third party. Sanchez allegedly fled the area and was arrested in East Lewis County. He’s been held on $750,000 bail ever since.

The two had been out drinking in Centralia with Romulo Yanez, 38, before returning to the house where the shooting allegedly occurred.

Yanez, the homeowner, was later accused of altering the crime scene and was also arrested. He also has a jury trial currently set to start the week of Dec. 2.
