Thurston County Sex Offenders Register as Transient

Several sex offenders have recently registered as transient in Thurston County, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office. 

Timothy W. Roberts, 35, a level 2 sex offender, is required to register as a sex offender due to a 2004 conviction in Thurston County Superior Court of one count of third-degree rape of a child. Roberts, at 20, was accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl. He was sentenced to 13 months in prison and up to 48 months on supervision. 

Level 2 sex offenders are considered to be at a higher risk to reoffend than a level 1 sex offender, but not at the highest risk. 

Roberts is described as a white male standing 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing 155 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. 

Zachary P. Stephens, 27, a level 1 sex offender, is required to register as a sex offender due to a 2007 conviction in Thurston County Juvenile Court of one count of first-degree rape of a child and first-degree child molestation. 

At 14, Stephens was accused of sexually assaulting a five-year-old boy. He pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to 15 to 36 weeks confinement for each count.

Level 1 sex offenders are considered to be the least likely to reoffend. 

Stephens is described as a white male standing 6 feet tall and weighing 160 pounds, with red hair and brown eyes. 

Steven D. Furtwrangler, 37, a level 1 sex offender, is required to register as a sex offender due to a 1996 conviction in Thurston County for first-degree rape of a child. At 14, Furtwrangler was accused of sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl. 

He is described as a white man standing 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighing 120 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Steven A. Denton, 35, a level 1 sex offender, is required to register as a sex offender due to 2002 conviction in Thurston County Superior Court of communication with a minor for immoral purposes. At 18, Denton was accused of having sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl. He was sentenced to 365 days in jail with 305 days suspended. 

Denton is described as a white male standing 6 feet tall and weighing 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. 

Todd J. Baldwin, 32, a level 1 sex offender, is required to register as a sex offender due to a 2005 conviction in Thurston County Superior Court of one count of first-degree rape of a child. Baldwin was accused of, at 17 years old, sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl. He was sentenced to 96 months in prison. 

Baldwin is described as a white male standing 6 feet, 4 inches tall and weighing 240 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. 

Nicholas R. Averette, 29, a level 1 sex offender, is required to register as a sex offender due to a 2012 conviction in Thurston County Superior Court of two counts of first-degree child molestation. Averette was accused of, from ages 14 to 19, sexually assaulting a known girl ages from ages 4 to 9. He was sentenced to 86 months in prison. 

Averette is described as a white male standing 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing 190 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. 

Brandon W. Craypo, 34, a level 1 sex offender, is required to register as a sex offender due to a 2002 conviction in Thurston County Juvenile Court of one count of second-degree rape of a child. Craypo was accused, at 17, of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl. He was sentenced to 15 to 36 weeks confinement.
