A multi-agency drug investigation, including Lewis County personnel and headed by the Thurston County Narcotics Task Force, seized over $54,000 worth of meth and heroin along with firearms and cash from two Thurston County residences Friday morning.

A 45-year-old male, whose name is not included in a press release from the Thurston County Narcotics Task Force, was booked into the Thurston County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver while armed and five counts of first-degree possession of a firearm.

According to the press release, 6 a.m. Friday, Thurston County and Washington State Patrol SWAT teams executed search warrants for the Narcotics Task Force at 5931 191st Ave. SW in Rochester and 6717 Henderson Boulevard Road SW in Tumwater.

The search warrants hinged on narcotics and firearms violations tied to the 45-year-old suspect, who has a criminal history including sex offenses, kidnapping, burglary, assault, possession of stolen property, firearms violations and narcotics trafficking.

He’s listed as a violent career criminal not legally allowed to possess a gun.

The SWAT teams, with help from WSP Bomb Squad, K-9 and patrol units, and Tumwater officers, secured the two spots and took the suspect into custody without incident. The press release doesn’t mention which location housed the suspect.

Task Force Detectives found at the two sites a total of three pounds of meth and an unspecified amount of heroin, packaging material, scales, three loaded handguns, two loaded rifles and a large sum of cash.

The estimated street value of the drugs is $54,000.

“There is nothing further at this time. The investigation is continuing,” states the press release.

A long list of local and state law enforcement agencies helped out in the investigation, including Lewis County’s Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team.
