The theft of $1,000 in merchandise from Centralia’s Nike Outlet landed three Pierce County residents in court Thursday.

Kaisha Renee Walker, 21, of University Place; Chadrick Cory Singleton, 25, of Lakewood; and Jalexis Brinae Ezell, 20, of Tacoma, were charged Thursday in Lewis County Superior Court as co-defendants with one count each of second-degree organized retail theft.

Lewis County Chief Criminal Deputy Brad Meagher asked that all three defendants receive the same bail, citing the fact that they all have minimal criminal history.

Superior Court Judge Richard Brosey granted each $10,000 unsecured bail.

Centralia police were dispatched to the store Wednesday after getting a report that three people in a white Hyundai Sonata with tinted windows stole bags full of merchandise from the outlet store.

The Sonata almost collided with another vehicle as the suspects sped off on northbound Interstate 5, according to witness reports in court documents.

A Washington State Patrol trooper contacted the suspects after the Sonata pulled off the freeway at Exit 101. The three suspects did not admit to taking anything, but police recovered merchandise inside the car, according to court documents.
