A Silverlake driver was killed Tuesday afternoon in a crash on state Route 504 near Castle Rock after reportedly losing control in a corner, according to the Washington State Patrol.

A report from the state patrol states that it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved.

According to the report, Kenneth A. Forbes, 24, of Silverlake, was heading east on state Route 504 in a 1996 Ford Crown Victoria when he lost control around a corner, crossing the center line and hitting a second vehicle, a 1990 Chevrolet Suburban.

Forbes was killed in the crash. The driver of the Suburban, identified by the state patrol as Kimberly K. Waddell, 53, of Longview, and a passenger, Dale E. Waddell, 57, of Longview, were injured and transported to PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center.

The Suburban hit a third vehicle, a 2016 Dodge Ram truck driven by Thomas R. Leathers, 66, of Toutle. Leathers and a passenger, Lorraine K. Sebastian, 63, of Castle Rock, were not injured.

The crash was caused by Forbes’ vehicle traveling too fast for conditions, according to the state patrol.
