Chehalis Police Department

No Arrests in Disturbance

• At 11:58 a.m. on Thursday, police received a report of people yelling and hitting each other in the 1000 block of Southwest 5th Street in Chehalis. No arrests were made.

Possible Burglary Reported

• At 3:43 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of people with backpacks climbing through a window in a house in the 800 block of Southwest 4th Street. No arrests were made.

Assault Reported

• At 12:44 a.m. on Friday, an assault was reported in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street.

Hit and Run Reported

• At 10:27 a.m. on Friday, a possible hit and run accident was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.

Trespassers Reported on Railroad Trestle 

• At 6:30 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a person walking on a railroad trestle and tracks at Stan Hedwall Park.

Juvenile Arrested on Drug Charges

• At 6:26 p.m. on Saturday, a 15-year-old Chehalis boy was arrested on suspicion of violation of the Uniform Controlled Substances Act in the 1000 block of Southwest 20th Street.

Woman Arrested on Suspicion of Shoplifting 

• Melisa K. Elliott, 48, of Monmouth, Oregon, was arrested at 6:39 p.m. Saturday in the 1600 block of Louisiana Avenue on suspicion of shoplifting items totaling $19.85.

Woman Cited for Assault After Animal Complaint

• Megan M. Murphy, 27, of Chehalis, was cited on suspicion of fourth-degree assault at 9:25 p.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of Southwest Mills Avenue. Police received a report that a dog scratched a child and was barking. The caller said when her husband went to talk to the dog’s owners, Murphy pushed the man.  

Vehicle Hits Light Pole

• At 12:29 a.m. Sunday, a vehicle reportedly hit a light pole in a parking lot in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

Late-Night Pool Trespassers Get Away

• At 1:29 a.m. Sunday, police received a report of three or four people using a pool at a house in the 600 block of Northwest St. Helens Avenue. The residents of the house were reportedly out of town. The 911 caller called a second time to say the boys had scattered over the fence when confronted.

Purse Stolen in Vehicle Prowl

• At 10:24 p.m. Sunday, police received a report of a purse stolen in a vehicle prowl in the 200 block of Southeast Adams Avenue.

Illegal Fireworks Reported

• At 8:27 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report of illegal fireworks in the 800 block of Southwest 9th Street.

 

Centralia Police Department

Money Stolen in Scam

• At 1:52 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of money stolen through a financial scam in the 100 block of South Pearl Street.

Credit Card Fraud Reported

• At 4:06 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report from the 1100 block of G Street of fraudulent charges to a credit card.

Hit and Run Reported

• At 12:18 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a possible hit and run accident near the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Interstate 5 in Centralia. The vehicle that left the scene of the accident is described as a black Mitsubishi with Arizona license plates. 

Vehicle Prowls Reported

• At 3:40 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of money stolen from a vehicle in the 2400 block of Cooks Hill Road.

• At 10:05 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a vehicle prowl in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue.

• At 4:37 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report that a GPS and Bluetooth device were stolen from a vehicle in the 1800 block of Collison Street.

• At 5:16 p.m. Monday, a GPS device was reported stolen from a car in the 2800 block of Russell Road.

Malicious Mailbox Mischief Reported

• At 8:46 a.m. on Sunday, police received a report of damage to a mailbox overnight in the 600 block of K Street in Centralia.

Lawn Mower Stolen

• At 10:24 a.m. on Saturday, a lawnmower was reported stolen from a yard in the 100 block of West Chestnut Street. 

Alleged Shoplifter Arrested

• Chandra M. Munsey, 22, of Centralia, was cited and released on suspicion of shoplifting in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue.

Car Prowlers Arrested With Help From K9

• Zachory J. Schultz, 18, of Centralia, and a 17-year-old, were arrested at 2:49 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Jalyn Street on suspicion of car prowling. Chehalis Police Officer Warren Ayers and his K-9 partner Reign assisted Centralia police officers in capturing the teens after they reportedly ran when officers arrived on the scene. 

Broken Window Reported

• At 10:06 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report of a window broken at a residence in the 1000 block of South Tower Avenue. 

Medication Stolen

• At 10:51 a.m. on Monday, medication was reported stolen in the 1100 block of South Scheuber Road in Centralia. 

Police Receive Report of Sexual Misconduct

• At 2:25 p.m. on Monday, police received a report of a possible case of inappropriate touching near the intersection of Logan and Marion streets. No further information was available.

Man Arrested for Trespass

• Jeffrey D. Prindle, 29, of Centralia, was cited on suspicion of trespassing at 6:38 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia.

 

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

Woman Arrested for DUI After Hitting Garbage Cans, Ditch

• Dorothy A. Myers-Marker, 79, of Chehalis, was arrested at 5:31 p.m. Saturday on suspicion of DUI after allegedly crossing the center and fog lines, hitting a garbage can and crashing in a ditch.

Suspect Breaks into Toledo School Bus Garage

• The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating reports of a break-in between Wednesday and Sunday in the 100 block of Collins Road at the Toledo School District bus garage. A suspect allegedly cut a chain-link fence, and tried, unsuccessfully, to steal gasoline. The suspect, who has not yet been identified, caused approximately $300 in damage. The school district is reviewing security-camera footage to see if cameras caught the event.

Thieves Make Off With $10,000 in Vehicle Prowl

• Deputies from the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a vehicle prowl at 12:35 a.m. on Saturday in the 100 block of Foster Creek Road in Toledo. Witnesses reportedly saw two men break into a Prescott Logistics truck. The driver reported about $9,800 in cash, a GPS unit and clothes stolen. Investigators are reviewing security footage. 

Burglary Reported to Storage Unit

• A saddle, heater, DVDs, toolbox and table saw were reportedly stolen between June 22 and June 25 from a storage unit in the 2400 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia. Thieves gained entry to the unit by drilling through a padlock. The incident is under investigation.

5-Ton Wood Splitter Reported Stolen in May

• The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office recently received a report that a 5-ton Duerr wood splitter was stolen in early May in the 200 block of Gershick Road in Silver Creek.

Brush Fires

• At 3:29 p.m. on Friday, a brush fire was reported in the 100 block of West Side Highway in Vader.

• At 3:52 p.m. on Friday, a brush fire was reported in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia.

• At 2:01 p.m. on Friday, a brush fire was reported near the intersection of 6th Street and Market Boulevard in Chehalis.

• At 1:53 p.m. on Monday, a brush fire was reported at milepost 62 of Interstate 5 near Winlock.

Tripped Breaker Triggers Fire Call

• At 6:40 p.m. on Saturday, Riverside Fire Authority responded to reports of a fire on a power pole near the intersection of First and G streets in Centralia. A crew responded and found no fire, but that a line breaker had tripped. They notified Centralia City Light about the problem. 

Structure Fire Reported in Centralia

• At 1:40 p.m. on Sunday, a structure fire was reported in the 1100 block of South Pearl Street in Centralia.
