Sires: Man Throws Beer Cans Out of Car; Panhandling, Sexual Misconduct Reported in Chehalis; Cyclist Collides With Car

Man Seen Throwing Beer Cans Out of Vehicle

• At 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a man driving a red SUV in the 600 block of North National Avenue while throwing beer cans out the window. No arrests were made. 

Possible Car Prowler Reported

• At 9:22 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a man trying to break into cars with a pry bar in a parking lot in the 1000 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

No Arrests in Reported Panhandling, Sexual Misconduct

• At 1:24 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of sexual misconduct at milepost 77 of Interstate 5. The caller reported a man in a wheelchair was panhandling and masturbating on an on-ramp.

Possible Assault Reported

• At 4:31 p.m. on Thursday, a caller in the 300 block of Cascade Avenue reported his landlord threatened his teenage son with a crowbar. No arrests were made.

Harassment Reported

• At 5 p.m. on Thursday, a man in the 700 block of South Market Boulevard reported being harassed over the phone by an ex-girlfriend.

 

Centralia Police Department

Suitcase Stolen From Vehicle, Later Recovered

• At 10:22 a.m. on Thursday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 800 block of Hamilton Avenue in Centralia. A large red suitcase was reported stolen. Officers later found the suitcase at a residence in the 800 block of South Pearl Street and returned it to the owner.

Bicycle Reported Stolen

• At 10:55 a.m. on Thursday, a bicycle was reported stolen in the 500 block of South King Street.

Tools Reported Stolen

• At 11:21 a.m. on Thursday, an engine hoist and grinder were reported stolen in the 300 block of Courtland Street.

Two Arrested After Incident on Lum Road

• Brian J. Olsen, 33, of Longview, was arrested at 11:51 a.m. Thursday in the 1300 block of Lum Road in Centralia on suspicion of organized retail theft and possession of methamphetamine and heroin. During the same incident, William E. Leahy, 42, of Longview, was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. 

Log Truck Reportedly Involved in Hit and Run

• At 12:28 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of a hit and run in the 3200 block of Galvin Road. According to the Centralia Police Department, a log truck reportedly hit another vehicle and drove away.

Bicyclist Fails to Yield, Collides with Car

• At 3:36 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of a collision between a bicyclist and a car in the 100 block of West Maple Street in Centralia. According to the Centralia Police Department, the bicyclist failed to yield right-of-way to a vehicle and collided with the vehicle. The bicyclist had minor injuries. 

Man Referred to Prosecutors for Assault Charges

• At 8:16 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of a dispute between a man and a woman. The man allegedly threw a picture through the passenger window of the woman’s car after they got in an argument. Officers did not find the man, identified as Bradley S. Hendrickson, 48, but will refer him to prosecutors on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, and third-degree malicious mischief, domestic violence, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• At 9:05 a.m. on Wednesday, a brush fire was reported in the near milepost 77 of southbound Interstate 5.

• At 6:17 p.m. on Wednesday, a brush fire was reported in the 200 block of Osborne Road in Mossyrock.

• At 6:36 a.m. on Friday, a brush fire was reported near the intersection of Falls and Kiona roads in Randle.
