Centralia Police Department

Fraudulent Charge Reported

• At 1:07 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a fraudulent charge to a bank account in the 1600 block of Harrison Avenue. 

Graffiti Painted on Fence

• At 3:04 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of malicious mischief in the 800 block of Landing Way. Graffiti was spray-painted on a fence. 

Cell Phone Taken

• At 3:27 p.m. on Friday, a cell phone was reported stolen in the 1100 block of View Avenue. 

Woman Injured During Dispute

• At 4:11 p.m. on Friday, police responded to a report of a family dispute in the 300 block of Spruce Street.  A 35-year-old Centralia woman was reportedly injured when she held on to her boyfriend’s truck as he drove away. The woman was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital with minor injuries. Police determined no crime had been committed. 

Protection Order Violations

• At 9:09 p.m. on Friday, police issued a summons to a 38-year-old Centralia man on suspicion of violating a no-contact order in the 300 block of Yew Street. The man reportedly fled the scene after violating the order. 

• At 1:34 a.m. on Monday, police arrested Eric J. Underwood, 60, of Centralia, in the 2600 block of Fords Prairie Avenue on suspicion of violating a domestic-violence no-contact order.

Man Booked for DUI Following Crash

• At 1:47 a.m. on Saturday, police arrested Rafael Morales Salas, 23, of Centralia, on suspicion of driving under the influence near the intersection of Harrison Avenue and First Street. Salas was arrested after allegedly crashing the vehicle he was driving. 

Man Sent Summons for Breaking Windshield

• At 2:33 a.m. on Saturday, police sent a summons to a 24-year-old Centralia man on suspicion of third-degree malicious mischief in the 1400 block of Johnson Road. The man allegedly broke a windshield on a vehicle, then fled the scene. 

Money Stolen 

• At 6:35 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a theft of money from a business in the 1200 block of Alder Street. The case is under investigation. 

Vehicle Taken

• At 1:19 a.m. on Sunday, a vehicle was reported stolen from the 600 block of North Washington Avenue. The black, 2008 Kia Optima had a temporary paper license plate. 

Motorcycles Stolen in Burglary

• At 4:54 a.m. on Sunday, a burglary was reported in the 300 block of South Tower Avenue. A blue 2012 Suzuki GSXR 1000 motorcycle and a white Suzuki GSXR 600 motorcycle were reported stolen.

Driver Booked on Warrants After Collision with Cyclist

• At 3:16 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to a report of a vehicle collision with a bicyclist at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Lowe Street. The driver, Jose A. Miranda Salvador, 41, of Centralia, was arrested on outstanding warrants and on suspicion of third-degree driving with a suspended license. The bicyclist was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital with a suspected head injury. 

Man Booked on Assault Charge

• At 5:52 p.m. on Sunday, police arrested Jason L. Oliver, 31, of Centralia, in the 400 block of West Pine Street on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, after allegedly assaulting two family members. 

Man Arrested on California Murder Warrant

• At 12:28 p.m. on Monday, police arrested Lemario D. Thomas, 27, of Heyward, California, on an outstanding murder warrant from California in the 400 block of North Tower Avenue. He was also cited and released on suspicion of vehicle prowl.

Accused Vehicle Prowler Arrested

• At 1:22 p.m. on Monday, police arrested Jesse J. Lee, 21, of Pe Ell, in the 600 block of North Tower Avenue, on suspicion of attempted vehicle prowl to six vehicles. 

Vehicle Window Broken

• At 5:51 p.m. on Monday, police received a report that a vehicle’s window was broken in the 1000 block of Roosevelt Avenue. 

Chehalis Police Department

Harassment Reported

• At 3:57 p.m. on Friday, harassment was reported in the 300 block of Southwest 16th Street. 

Vehicle Keyed

• At 5:31 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of third-degree malicious mischief in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard. A vehicle was keyed.

Hit and Runs

• At 10:28 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a hit and run in the 300 block of Southwest 16th Street. A building was damaged. 

• At 11:01 a.m. on Saturday, a hit and run was reported in the 1700 block of North National Avenue.

• At 10:42 p.m. on Saturday, a hit and run was reported at the intersection of Fourth Street and Market Boulevard. 

Trespassers Reported in Vacant Residence

• At 5:37 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of trespassers in a garage at a vacant residence in the 200 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue. 

Accused Shoplifters Cited

• At 11:57 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to a report of a shoplifter in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. Thomas R. Serjance, 56, of Normandy Park, was cited on suspicion of third-degree theft after allegedly fraudulently returning an item, then using the cash to buy more items. 

• At 4:11 p.m. on Sunday, police cited Jared W. Thorson, 32, of Centralia, on suspicion of third-degree theft in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. He allegedly took coloring books, pens and shoes. 

Suspicious Activity at Vacant House

• At 6:05 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report of suspicious activity at a vacant house in the 900 block of Northwest Prindle Street. A person reported people spraying graffiti on the house and pulling siding off the building. 

Morton Police Department

Drunk Patron Trespassed After Dispute

• At 12:10 a.m. on Oct. 11, police responded to the 100 block of East State Street in Mossyrock after a person reported that a patron at the business was slapped by a waitress. Police learned that the patron was escorted out of the establishment because he was being rude and was intoxicated. The person was banned from the property but not arrested.

Medication Stolen

• At 4:27 p.m. on Oct. 11, medication was reported stolen from a purse in the 500 block of Main Avenue in Morton.

Person Accused of Rummaging Through Donation Bin

• At 9:51 p.m. on Oct. 13, police received a report of a person going through a donation bin in the 100 block of Main Street in Mossyrock. Police warned the subject.

Baptism Party Gets Loud

• At 3:55 p.m. on Saturday, police responded one of two times to a residence in the 200 block of East State Street in Mossyrock after receiving complaints about a loud party. Officers talked to a person who said that it was a baptism party, and agreed to turn the music down. 

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

Propane Tanks, BBQ Stolen in Burglary

• On Friday, deputies received a report of a burglary occurring between Oct. 8 and Friday in the 100 block of Rhoades Road North in Winlock. The victims, a 34-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man from Cinebar, reported that doors on a detached shop building had been forced open and a wire suspended between two trees acting as a gate to the property was cut. Propane tanks, a barbecue, a riding lawnmower and scrap-metal radiators valued at $1,200 were reported stolen. An investigation is ongoing. 

Man Arrested on Suspicion of Child Assault

• On Friday, deputies arrested Paul S. Preston, 50, of Morton, on suspicion of second-degree assault on a child. The assault allegedly occurred on Sept. 18 in Morton, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Preston is accused of pushing an 11-year-old girl, causing her to break her wrist. He was not charged in Lewis County

Two Arrested on DUI Charges 

• At 10:48 a.m. on Sunday, police arrested Travis Wayne Collins, 44, of Toledo, on suspicion of DUI in the 600 block of U.S. Highway 12 in Napavine. Deputies reportedly stopped Collins after he allegedly ran a red light.

• At 7:45 p.m. on Sunday, deputies responded to a report of a vehicle in a ditch in the 400 block of Lincoln Creek Road in Centralia. Terry L. Godsey, 60, of Centralia, was arrested and booked on suspicion of DUI. Godsey reportedly refused a field sobriety test, but deputies arrested him after smelling intoxicants. 

Tools, Tires Taken in Burglary

On Sunday, deputies received a report of a burglary occurring over the previous two days in the 200 block of Coulson Road in Chehalis. The victims, a 50-year-old man and a 54-year-old man from Onalaska and Toledo, respectively, reported that hand and air tools and truck tires valued at $5,000 were taken. 

Inmate Faces Drug Charge

• At 8:48 p.m. on Sunday, deputies responded to the Lewis County Jail to a report of possession of a controlled substance by an inmate. Corrections staff reportedly found a bag of pills identified as a controlled substance during a strip search of an inmate. Kristine M. Hiatt, 43, of Chehalis, was booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance.
