Chehalis Police Department 

Vehicle Stolen

• A 1985 Toyota was reported stolen from the 1100 block of Northwest State Avenue in Chehalis at 8:23 a.m. Tuesday.

Trashy Neighbor

• Garbage was reported to be piling up outside a house in the 200 block of Southeast Winchester Hill Drive in Chehalis at 8:54 a.m. Tuesday.

Car Battery Taken 

• A battery was reported stolen overnight Tuesday from a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier in the 500 block of South Market Boulevard in Chehalis.  

Centralia Police Department

Man Arrested for Meth

• Officers arrested Garrett A. Hylton, 21, of Centralia, for possession of methamphetamine and failing to register a Department of Corrections warrant at the intersection of South Tower Avenue and Jefferson Street at 8:42 a.m. Tuesday. He was booked into the Lewis County Jail.

Building Tagged

• Police received a report of vandalism to a building in the 500 block of North Iron Street in Centralia at 10:33 a.m. Tuesday. The building had been tagged with graffiti in many places. Detectives are investigating the case to see if it is linked with a specific person.

Woman Damages Hospital Room

• Centralia resident Rebecca L. Higgins, 26, was referred to the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office after she allegedly broke $1,000 worth of items in a hospital room in the 900 block of South Schueber Road in Centralia at 3:28 p.m. Tuesday.

BB Shot Through Window

• A woman reported to police at 4:58 p.m. Tuesday that her window in the 100 block of South Gold Street was damaged by a BB that may have been shot by a passing car. According to police there is no suspect or vehicle information as of Wednesday morning. 

Three Arrested for Stealing From Stores

• Officers arrested three individuals for allegedly stealing items from several stores in the 100 block of West High Street in Centralia at 7:39 p.m. Tuesday. Carl D. Salzer, 23, and Genaro M. Rivas, 25, both of Chehalis, and Krystin R. Lane, 22, of Rochester, were arrested for third-degree theft. Officers also arrested Lane for driving with a suspended license. Police are continuing the investigation.

The Thief Stole My Homework

• Police received a report of a backpack with school materials stolen from a car in the 1300 block of Lum Road in Centralia at 9:18 p.m. Tuesday.

Vehicle Stolen

• At 7:21 a.m. Wednesday a vehicle was reported stolen overnight from the 900 block of North Tower Avenue in Centralia.

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

DUI Arrest

• Deputies arrested a 54-year-old Bucoda woman for allegedly driving under the influence. Susan E. Layman was arrested for a suspected DUI at Kresky Avenue and East Summa Street in Centralia at 8:24 p.m. Tuesday after allegedly committing several traffic infractions. She was booked into the Lewis County Jail.

Suspect Removes, Leaves Vehicle Tires

• The Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle prowl in the 12000 block of U.S. Highway 12. A 52-year-old man left his vehicle at his place of work overnight on Monday because it wouldn’t start. The suspect accessed the vehicle through a partially open window and destroyed the ignition. The suspect then took 10 lugnuts and removed two tires, which were located nearby. The loss is estimated at $155 and investigation is underway.

Tools Stolen in Randle

• A residential burglary occurring between Oct. 3 and Tuesday was reported in the 100 block of Morris Road in Randle. A 53-year-old man returned home to find his shop door had been forced open. The victim is still compiling a list of stolen items, which includes multiple tool boxes, winches, laser levels and other high-end tools.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered

• At 8:48 a.m. on Monday, deputies recovered a stolen vehicle at the end of Buckley Road in Toledo. The 2007 Honda Pilot was stolen from Clark County.
