Sirens: Woman Arrested and Released For Knocking Down Small Child, Two Booked for Allegedly Lying to Cops

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Theft

• At 11:31 a.m. Wednesday, a theft of a smoking device was reported at a business in the 700 block of West Main Street.

Woman Arrested and Released For Knocking Down Small Child

• At 4:17 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue and arrested and released Shirley R. Frost, 77, of Centralia on suspicion of fourth-degree assault after allegedly using her walker to push a small child to the ground.

Summons Issued to Alleged Thief

• At 5:13 p.m. Wednesday, a police issued a summons to Christine J. Cummins, 31, of Olympia on suspicion of third-degree theft after she allegedly stole merchandise from a store in the 1300 block of Lum Road.

Vehicle Stolen

• At 6:03 p.m. Wednesday, police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Ham Hill Road where a person reported the theft of a black 2001 Chevrolet Suburban.

Two Trespass Suspects Arrested and Released

• At 9:52 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 600 block of North Tower Avenue and arrested and released Charles A. Parks, 54, of Centralia and Janie S. Weibling, 56, of Centralia on suspicion of criminal trespass.

Suspects Arrested and Released for Suspended Licenses

• At 11:46 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the intersection of Tower Avenue and Fourth Street and arrested and released Mary A. Orlik, 30, of Centralia on suspicion of first-degree driving with a  suspended license and an ignition interlock violation.

• At 11:47 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 1600 block of North Pearl Street and arrested and released Treston D. Zimmerman, 35, of Onalaska on suspicion of third-degree driving while license suspended.

Vehicle Prowl

• At 5:35 a.m. Thursday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 1800 block of Shamrock Drive.

Minor Referred For Alcohol Possession

• At 3:44 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 900 block of Johnson Road and referred a minor to the prosecutor’s office on suspicion of minor in possession of alcohol.

Two Booked for Allegedly Lying to Cops

• At 11:24 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 1200 block of Borthwick Street and arrested Dylan A. Rice, 26, of Wenatchee and Brandon L. Kober, 24, of Wenatchee on suspicion of obstructing a public servant, after allegedly lying during a criminal investigation.

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Woman Reports Groping

• At 8:38 a.m. Thursday, police were contacted by a female subject reporting she had been groped at Walmart in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. The victim reported hearing of similar events, and that police were requesting other victims to come forward.

Burglary Suspect Booked

• At 2:45 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and arrested Desirae M. Kawalsky, 33, of Chehalis on suspicion of second-degree burglary.

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 217 inmates, with 182 in general population, 33 in the work ethic and restitution center and two on work release. Of general population inmates, 148 were male and 34 were female, and of WERC inmates, 27 were male and six were female. A total of 38 inmates were booked through contracts outside Lewis County.
