Sirens: Windows Vandalized; Man Tries to Sell Meat in Parking Lot

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Windows Vandalized

• At 9:34 a.m. Monday, police were notified that windows were tagged with graffiti overnight in the 400 block of North Market Boulevard.

 

Man Seen Walking on Railroad Tracks

• At 6:05 p.m. Monday, police were alerted of a male subject walking northbound on the railroad tracks near Chamber of Commerce Way and North National Avenue.

 

Man Tries to Sell Meat in Parking Lot

• At 6:43 p.m. Monday, a man was seen in a business’s parking lot in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard trying to sell fish and meat. The man was approaching windows and startling customers.

 

Boy Booked for Assault

• At 3:01 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 2000 block of Southwest Salsbury Avenue and arrested a 10-year-old Centralia boy on suspicion of third-degree assault.

 

Vehicle Stopped in Road, Blocking Traffic

• At 8:55 p.m. Tuesday, a caller in the 100 block of Southeast Fairview Avenue reported a vehicle was stopped on the road — facing the wrong way, and blocking traffic.

 

Vehicle Prowls

• At 12:40 p.m. Monday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 400 block of Northwest Park Street.

• At 8:52 a.m. Tuesday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 700 block of Southwest 18th Street.

 

 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Juvenile Referred for Marijuana Possession

• At 1:21 p.m. Monday, police responded to the 800 block of Eshom Road and referred a male juvenile to the prosecutor’s office on suspicion of a marijuana violation.

 

Assault Suspect Referred

• At 3:50 p.m. Monday, police responded to the 800 block of South Gold Street and referred a 47-year-old Centralia resident to the prosecutor’s office on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence.

 

Hawaii Man Booked for Trespass

• At 9:12 p.m. Monday, police responded to the 100 block of North Tower Avenue and arrested Russell L. Haluapo, 52, of Hawaii on suspicion of criminal trespass.

 

Theft

• At 4:03 p.m. Tuesday, a theft of food items was reported from a business in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue.

 

Man Arrested, Released for Trespassing

• At 1 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 1000 block of Long Road and arrested and released a 61-year-old Centralia man on suspicion of criminal trespass. The man was allegedly found sleeping on private property.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 212 inmates, with 184 in general population, 26 in the work ethic and restitution center and two on work release. 

Of general population inmates, 154 were male and 30 were female and of WERC inmates, 23 were male and three were female. A total of 49 inmates were booked through contracts outside Lewis County.
