Sirens: Vehicle Stolen; Trespassers Reported; Man Accused of Assaulting Victim With Taser

Chehalis Police Department

Vehicle Stolen

• At 2:31 p.m. on Monday, a vehicle was reported stolen overnight from the 300 block of Southeast Washington Avenue.  

Thefts

• At 2:58 p.m. on Monday, a third-degree theft was reported in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard. 

• At 3:54 p.m. on Tuesday, a second-degree theft was reported in the 300 block of South Market Boulevard. 

Protection Orders Violated

• At 4:15 p.m. on Monday, police received a report of a protection-order violation in the 2200 block of Jackson Highway. No arrests were made. 

• At 6:33 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of a protection order being violated in the 2200 block of Jackson Highway. No arrest was reported.

Burglary Reported at Retail Store

• At 8:03 p.m. on Monday, a burglary was reported at a store in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. A person who had been trespassed from the store was allegedly caught shoplifting. James R. Reed, 40, of Tenino, was cited and released at the scene. 

Trespassers Reported

• At 12:25 p.m. on Tuesday, a trespasser was reported in the 200 block of Northwest Pacific Avenue. A person reported a “male has entered their business four times today saying things that do not make sense.” No arrest was reported.

• At 9:48 p.m. on Tuesday, trespassers were reported in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. Two men were reportedly in the bathroom for 45 minutes “bickering.” No arrests were reported. 

Centralia Police Department

Man Accused of Assaulting Victim With Taser

• At 12:06 p.m. on Monday, police responded to a report of an assault in the 700 block of North Tower Avenue. Melvin M. Wilkins, 59, of Centralia, was arrested and released on a charge of fourth-degree assault. He was accused of assaulting another man with a Taser.

Chevrolet Tracker Reported Stolen

• At 1:20 p.m. on Monday, a blue 2002 Chevrolet Tracker was reported stolen in the 1100 block of G Street. 

Olympia Man Booked Into Jail on Suspended License, Drug Charge

• At 1:07 a.m. on Tuesday, police responded to the 600 block of West Second Street and arrested John R. Cabell, 27, of Olympia, on suspicion of driving on a suspended license and being in possession of methamphetamine. 

Tools Stolen

• At 8:37 a.m. on Tuesday, tools were reported stolen in the 1900 block of Ahlers Avenue. The case is under investigation. 

Assault Reported

• At 10:43 a.m. on Tuesday, an assault was reported after a fight in the 100 block of South Diamond Street. The case is under investigation. 

Vehicle License Plate Stolen

• At 12:19 p.m. on Tuesday, a vehicle’s license plate was reported stolen in the 2800 block of Russell Road. 

Jewelry Stolen in Burglary

• At 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, jewelry was reported stolen in a burglary in the 1300 block of Harrison Avenue. 

Hit and Run

• At 12:42 p.m. on Tuesday, a hit and run was reported at the intersection of Pearl Street and Centralia College Boulevard.  

Fraud

• At 2:48 p.m. on Tuesday, check fraud was reported in the 200 block of Centralia College Boulevard. The case is under investigation.  

Lewis County Jail

As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 220 inmates, with 183 in general population, 36 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center and three on work release. Of general population inmates, 150 were men and 33 women and of WERC inmates, 33 were men and three women.
