Sirens: Two Men Offer to Sell Young Girl; Man Allegedly Spits on Hospital Staffer

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Thefts

• At 10:46 a.m. Friday, a theft of a donation pot containing an undetermined amount of cash was reported in the 300 block of North Gold Street.

• At 3:14 p.m. Friday, a theft of a tool set, valued at $400, was reported in the 1600 block of Harrison Avenue.

• At 6:42 p.m. Friday, a theft of a shirt was reported from a business in the 1300 block of Lum Road. A male suspect took the shirt and ran.

• At 2:27 p.m. Saturday, a theft of a purse and wallet was reported in the 1300 block of Lum Road.

• At 7:06 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported several subjects stole numerous bottles of alcoholic drinks from a business in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue before fleeing.

 

Assault Suspect Issued Summons

• At 11:37 a.m. Friday, police responded to the 1400 block of Johnson Road to investigate an assault. A summons was issued to a 40-year-old Centralia resident.

 

Suspect Booked for Violating Protection Order

• At 2:14 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 200 block of North Diamond Street and arrested Brian D. Fortune, 32, of Centralia on suspicion of violating a protection order and on several outstanding Centralia Municipal Court warrants and a Department of Corrections warrant.

 

Man Allegedly Spits on Hospital Staffer

• At 5 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 900 block of Scheuber Road and arrested Gary B. Strand, 26, of Chehalis on suspicion of harassment.

 

Man Cited for Suspended License

• At 6:43 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 1000 block of Harrison Avenue and cited a 42-year-old Centralia resident on suspicion of third-degree driving with a suspended license.

 

Seattle Residents Arrested, Released on Theft Charges

• At 7:04 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 1300 block of Lum Road and arrested and released a 35-year-old and a 31-year-old Seattle resident on suspicion of third-degree theft.

 

Juvenile Booked for Assaulting Adult

• At 9:45 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 600 block of Hamilton Avenue and arrested a female juvenile on suspicion of fourth-degree assault.

 

Unknown Suspect Breaks Key in Door

• At 8:02 a.m. Saturday, a caller in the 200 block of West Oakview Avenue reported someone broke a key into their vehicle’s lock.

 

Man Arrested for Damaging Mattress

• At 10:54 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 600 block of West Main Street and arrested Michael J. Stedham, 30, of Centralia on suspicion of second-degree malicious mischief — domestic violence for allegedly dealing damage to a $2,000 mattress.

 

Hit and Run

• At 10:38 p.m. Saturday, a hit and run was reported at First Street and Washington Avenue.

 

Assault Suspect Booked

• At 2:37 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the 100 block of Virginia Drive and arrested Torrie E. Woodruff, 25, of Centralia on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence.

 

Vandal Breaks Vehicle Mirror

• At 12:30 p.m. Sunday, a caller in the 2800 block of Borst Avenue reported someone broke one of their vehicle’s mirrors.

 

Vehicle Prowl

• At 1:12 p.m. Sunday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 1300 block of Rose Street. Three male juveniles stole $20.

 

Man Allegedly Runs From Police During Investigation

• At 5:55 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the 1000 block of Alder Street and arrested Cory L. Hughes, 26, a transient on suspicion of resisting arrest and second-degree trespass. Hughes allegedly ran from police as they were investigation a dispute, and tried to hide on private property.

 

Police Arrest Theft Suspect

• At 6:08 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the 100 block of West High Street and arrested Justin A. Beaber, 32, of Centralia on suspicion of third-degree theft.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

 

Two Men Offer to Sell Young Girl

• At 1:52 p.m. Wednesday, a caller in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue reported two Hispanic men tried to sell them a gold ring, and then offered to sell them a young girl.

 

Thefts

• At 3:39 p.m. Thursday, a theft of two bottles of Jagermeister was reported in the 500 block of South Market Boulevard.

• At 9:06 a.m. Saturday, a theft of keys was reported in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.

• At 6:27 p.m. Saturday, a theft of several boxes of diapers was reported in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard.

 

Hit and Run

• At 3:14 p.m. Friday, a hit and run was reported in the 2000 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue.

 

Physical Altercation Separated

• At 12:25 a.m. Sunday, a fight was broken up and reported in the 500 block of Southeast Washington Avenue.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 232 inmates, with 197 in general population, 32 in the work ethic and restitution center and three on work release. Of general population inmates, 157 were male and 40 were female and of WERC inmates, 28 were male and four were female. A total of 31 inmates were booked through contracts outside Lewis County.
