Shoplifter Takes Groceries

• At 10:40 a.m. on Monday, a shoplifter was reported in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue. A male suspect reportedly took grocery items.  

Two Cited After Altercation

• At 1 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to a report of a physical altercation in the 1000 block of North Tower Avenue. Kyle D. Day, 23, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault. Levi E. O. Day, 25, of Centralia, was cited on suspicion of third-degree malicious mischief, domestic violence, for allegedly damaging a roommate’s phone.

Man Runs From Police, Arrested for Obstruction

• At 7:47 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to a report of a dispute in the 1200 block of Rhobina Street in Centralia. Steven M. Fullerton, 56, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a law enforcement officer after allegedly fleeing from officers investigating the dispute.

Suspect Sought in Alcohol Theft

• At 10:28 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue after receiving a report of a suspect using force against an employee to steal a bottle of alcohol. No arrests were made but an investigation is ongoing as officers work to identify the suspect. 

Pigs on the Loose

• At 8:13 a.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of two large pigs found roaming in the area of Bryden Street in Centralia. The pigs later ended up in a horse stable. It is unknown who the pigs belonged to, according to the police department. 

Woman Booked on Domestic Violence Offense

• At 1:16 a.m. on Wednesday, police responded to the 3200 block of Galvin Road and arrested Latasha A. Miller, 27, on suspicion of attempted third-degree malicious mischief — domestic violence and interfering with the reporting of domestic violence.

Chehalis Police Department

Scam Reported

• At 1:24 p.m. on Monday, a scam was reported in the 1400 block of South Market Boulevard. 

Accused Shoplifters Arrested

• At 2:11 p.m. on Monday, police responded to a report of a shoplifter in the 500 block of South Market Boulevard. Jennifer L. German, 35, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of third-degree theft. She was accused of taking merchandise valued at $233.

• At 3:37 p.m. on Monday, police responded to a report of a shoplifter in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. Christina D. Lozano, 40, of Centralia, was cited on suspicion of third-degree theft. She was accused of taking items valued at $33.

Malicious Mischief 

• At 2:21 p.m. on Monday, police received a report of malicious mischief in the 2100 block of North National Avenue. The victim reported the suspect took their cell phone and assaulted them in violation of a no-contact order. Officers were not able to find the suspect at first, but he was later arrested on a warrant. Christopher M. Mullen, 24, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree robbery, fourth-degree assault and violation of a no-contact order.

Truck Stolen, Found Wrecked in Thurston County

• At 8:12 a.m. on Monday, deputies received a report of a vehicle being stolen the previous Saturday in the 900 block of Big Hanaford Road in Centralia. The vehicle, a 2005 Ford F-250, was taken from a business and was valued at $25,000. The truck was found with major front-end damage at 12:30 p.m. Monday near the Skookumchuck Creek Dam in Thurston County.

Three-Wheeler Vehicle, Riding Lawnmower Taken in Chehalis Burglary

• On Tuesday, deputies responded to a report of a burglary in the past month at a residence and storage facility in the 100 block of Holcomb Road. Stolen items include a refurbished three-wheeler vehicle, a riding lawnmower and chainsaws. The total value of stolen or damaged items is estimated to be $40,000 to $50,000. 

Lewis County Jail Statistics

• As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 227 inmates, including 189 in general population, 37 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center and one inmate on work release. Of general population inmates, 151 were male and 38 were female and of WERC inmates, 31 were male and 6 female. A total of 30 inmates were booked through contracts with agencies outside Lewis County.
