Sirens: Tires Slashed in Centralia; Drunken Woman Kicks Officer; Argument Over Spilled Beans

Centralia Police Department

Multiple Tire Slashings

• Police received six reports of vehicles with slashed tires Friday morning. Four of the reports were in the 1300 to 1600 blocks of Windsor Avenue in Centralia. One was in the 1400 block of Delaware Avenue and another was in the 1300 block of Crescent Avenue. Police also received a report of  vehicle having paint damaged by a sharp object in the 1300 block of Windsor Avenue.  

Family Feud

• A summons was issued for Richard S. Cook, 42, on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, following a report at 6 p.m. Friday that he allegedly assaulted his mother and fled from the 1000 block of North Tower Avenue. 

Suspect Gives Foot Chase

• Officers arrested Eric J. Ferguson, 43, after seeing him walking in the 1200 block of Delaware Avenue in Centralia at about 7 p.m. Friday. Ferguson, who had an active warrant, allegedly ran from officers. Police chased and arrested Ferguson, who was booked into the Lewis County Jail on the warrant, and on suspicion of attempting to escape and trespassing after going onto the railroad tracks.

Man Cited for Allegedly Damaging a Vehicle

• Jason W. Dix, 40, of Centralia, was cited at 3:21 p.m. on Monday in the 500 block of North Ash Street on suspicion of malicious mischief, for allegedly damaging a vehicle.

Man Arrested on DUI Charge

• Ricky M. Owens, 48, of Chehalis, was arrested at 2:38 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of East Plum Street on suspicion of driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license.

Runaway Arrested

• Police arrested a 17-year-old runway girl for an outstanding warrant in the 200 block of South Tower Avenue in Centralia at 8:58 a.m. Saturday. 

No Injury Hit and Run

• Officers received a report of a hit and run with no injuries at Plum and Yew streets at 3:22 p.m. Saturday. The fleeing vehicle was described as a light blue passenger car.

Drunken Woman Allegedly Kicks Officer in Chest

• At 9:37 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 800 block of South Pearl Street in Centralia for a report of a drunken and out-of-control woman. When police arrived, one of the members of the household was holding down Deana Wynergar, 51. Wynergar allegedly kicked the officer in the chest. She was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail on suspicion of third-degree assault.

Hit and Run Citation

• Police cited Adela R. Gomez-Aguirre, 30, of Centralia, on suspicion of hit and run in the 1400 block of West Mellen Street at 2:53 p.m. Sunday. 

Assault Arrest

• Michael R. L. Weems, 22, of Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail on suspicion of assault in the 900 block of Marion Street at 3:58 p.m. Sunday.

Hit and Run Reported

• At 2:40 p.m. on Monday, a hit and run accident was reported in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue.

Two Arrested on Theft Charges

• Genaro M. Rivas, 25, of Chehalis and Deseree J. Herbert-Jaynes, 25, of Yelm, were arrested and released at 7:22 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of Downing Road on suspicion of third-degree theft.

One Arrested on Assault Charge

• Rylie C. Benjamin, 19, of Centralia, was arrested at 9:59 p.m. Monday in the 2600 block of North Pearl Street on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.

 

Chehalis Police Department

Harassment

• Police arrested and booked Soyel Reyes, 21, into the Lewis County Jail on suspicion of harassment after he allegedly chased a woman in the 400 block of North Market Boulevard at 5:44 a.m. Saturday.

Aggressive Driver

• Officers received a report at 12:13 p.m. Saturday of a car trying to run another vehicle off the road twice in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

Attempted Burglary

• Police received a report at 8:29 a.m. Sunday of an attempted burglary with a broken window in the 1800 block of Southwest Snively Avenue.

Skateboarders Ride in Middle of Road

• At 9:10 p.m. Sunday, officers received a report of four kids skateboarding in the middle of the road in the 1300 block of Northwest State Avenue in Chehalis. The reporting party told the kids to get out of the road, according to police dispatches. The kids then allegedly acted like they were going to hit the person’s truck with their skateboards.

 

Morton Police Department

Gnome Gone from Home

• Officers responded to a report of a theft of two garden hoses and a gnome in the 300 block of Third Street in Morton at 8:27 p.m. Wednesday. No suspects have been identified. 

Pellet Gun Noise Thought to be Fireworks

• Police responded to the 300 block of East Main Street in Mossyrock at 6:45 p.m. Thursday after receiving a report of people shooting off fireworks. Officers contacted two people shooting a pellet gun in a safe direction at targets.

Argument Over Spilled Beans a Nuisance to Neighbors

• At 7:47 p.m. Friday, an officer responded to the 300 block of East State Street for a report of people arguing all day. When contacted, the people told the officer they were arguing over spilled beans in the house, and that no physical abuse went on. The officer warned them that their loud arguing was a nuisance to their neighbors.

 

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

DUI Arrest

• Austin J. Walker, 21, of Onalaska, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in the 200 block of Meyer Road in Napavine on Saturday at 2:10 a.m. Walker was allegedly stopped for a traffic infraction, and deputies then learned he was impaired. He was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail.

Felony Harassment, Domestic Violence

• Christopher B. Dolth, 33, of Ritzville, was arrested on suspicion of felony harassment, domestic violence, at the Cascade Peaks Campground in Randle in the 11000 block of U.S. Highway 12 on Sunday at 10:31 a.m. The victim, a female, 31, of Vancouver, Washington, had been threatened by Dolth during an argument. Dolth accused her of cheating with another camper, according to the sheriff’s office. He then allegedly grabbed a gun, put it in his waistband and said he would shoot her in the face if she didn’t tell him who the guy was. After an investigation he was booked into the Lewis County Jail.

Trespassing and Drugs 

• Jeremy R. Duryea, 33, of Ethel, was arrested on suspicion of violating the Uniform Controlled Substances Act in the 1400 block of U.S. Highway 12 on Friday. Donald Rico, 56, of Mossyrock, was referred to the prosecutor’s office. Duryea had trespassed in the past at Ethel Market and was reported for being there again. Deputies saw him in the passenger seat of a vehicle. The driver was Rico. While searching the vehicle, deputies found a loaded syringe under the passenger seat and another under the driver seat. Duryea was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail. Rico was referred to the prosecutor’s office on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. It wasn’t clear if either were charged with trespassing. 

Burglary 

• A 63-year-old from Winlock reported a burglary in the 800 block of Spencer Road in Winlock on Friday at 8 a.m. A router, mechanic’s tools and a chain saw, all valued at $1,000, were reported stolen.

 

Fires

Fire Damages Kitchen

• At 1:35 p.m. on Monday, crews responded to reports of a structure fire in the 500 block of Newaukum Valley Road. The fire was confined to the home’s kitchen, according to Lewis County Fire District 5.
