Sirens: Three Arrested for Retail Theft; Disgruntled Customer Makes Threat About Shotgun; Thieves Steal Popsicles, Melt Ice Cream

Centralia Police Department

Laptop Taken

• At 12:17 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of a theft of a laptop computer in the 600 block of Centralia College Boulevard.

 Protection Order Violations

• At 1:07 p.m. on Tuesday, police arrested Ahmed M. Peace, 23, of Centralia, on suspicion of violating a no-contact order in the 400 block of West Main Street.

• At 4:05 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of a violation of a protection order in the 1000 block of Roosevelt Avenue. The case is under investigation. 

DUI

• Christopher D. Schluter, 43, of College Place was arrested on suspicion of DUI at 2:44 p.m. Tuesday in the 1900 block of West Reynolds Avenue. 

Animal Trap Damaged

• At 7:49 p.m. on Tuesday, a live-capture animal trap was reportedly damaged in the 500 block of Girard Street.

Vehicle Prowl

• At 7:32 a.m. on Wednesday, a purse and a Samsung Galaxy tablet were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 2600 block of Cooks Hill Road.

Fraudulent Check Reported

• At 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a fraudulent check in the 1000 block of South Tower Avenue. 

Bicycle Taken

• At 8:58 p.m. on Wednesday, a bicycle was reported stolen in the 1500 block of Windsor Avenue. 

Three Arrested for Retail Theft

• At 5:05 p.m. on Wednesday, Kaisha R. Walker, 21, of University Place, Jalexis B. Ezell, 20, of Tacoma and Chadrick C. Singleton, 25, of Lakewood were arrested in the 100 block of West High Street on suspicion of organized retail theft.

Driver Arrested After Collision

• At 12:31 a.m. on Thursday, police arrested Dawnita K. Ortivez, 28, of Centralia, on suspicion of driving under the influence after she reportedly crashed her car into a utility pole in the 200 block of Downing Road.

Vehicle Prowl

• At 9:29 a.m. on Monday, police received a report of a vehicle prowl in the 500 block of Southeast Hilltop Drive.  

Thefts

• At 12:05 p.m. on Monday, police received a report of a wallet taken in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.

• At 12:08 p.m. on Monday, police received a report that money was stolen from a wallet in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

• At 2:26 p.m. on Monday, police received a report of a theft in the 100 block of Northeast Hampe Way.

• At 4:31 p.m. on Monday, police received a report of a theft in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard. 

• At 3:52 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a shoplifter in Chehalis. No arrests were made.

Shoplifting Charges

• Donna J. Galpin, 56, of Rochester, was cited on suspicion of third-degree theft at 5:15 p.m. Monday in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue for allegedly shoplifting cosmetics and clothing valued at $154.

• Shandell S. Fickett, 18, of Onalaska, was cited on suspicion of third-degree theft for allegedly shoplifting $35.28 in makeup in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.  

Trespasser Reported

• At 4:08 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of a trespasser in the 1800 block of Southwest Snively Avenue. 

Suspicious Person Reported

• At 9:54 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of a suspicious person looking in houses’ windows in the 500 block of Northwest St. Helens Avenue. 

Man Faces Charges of Breaking Car Window

• At 1:21 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report that a man was running down the road in the area of Prindle and Northwest State streets in Chehalis who broke a vehicle’s window. Police responded again at 2:12 p.m. to the 600 block of Northwest Prindle Street for a third-degree malicious mischief complaint related to the incident. A suspect has been referred to the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office for possible Charges.

Mail Theft 

• At 3:43 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of mail theft in the 1700 block of Southwest Snively Avenue in Chehalis.

Disgruntled Customer Makes Threat About Shotgun

• At 4:32 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of harassment in the 300 block of Northwest Pacific Avenue in Chehalis. An upset customer reportedly said something about needing to get a shotgun. No arrests were made.

Juvenile Arrested on Assault Charge

• At 4:56 p.m. on Wednesday, police arrested a 12-year-old Chehalis boy on suspicion of fourth-degree assault in the 100 block of Southwest Fourth Street.

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

Thieves Steal Popsicles, Melt Ice Cream

• At 9 p.m. on May 13, police received a report of a burglary in the 3100 block of Ives Road Centralia at Villa Los Milagros. The burglars allegedly spray-painted an “R” on a wall, stole popsicles, and left a freezer door open, causing ice cream to melt. Children are the rumored perpetrators, but an investigation is ongoing. 

Woman Arrested for Court Order Violation

• At 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Teresa K. Roberts, 56, of Kelso, was arrested in the 100 block of Charlotte Lane.

Burglary Reported at Shed

• The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office recently received a report of a burglary that occurred in the past month in the 400 block of state Route 505 in Winlock at a storage shed.  A small safe, valued at $150, and four Toyo tires on aluminum Ford wheels valued at $2,250 were stolen.
