Chehalis Police Department

ATM Shot With BB Gun

• At 5:12 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report that someone shot an ATM in the 600 block of South Market Boulevard with a BB gun. The ATM was no longer functional.

Camera Stolen from Car

• At 7:32 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a vehicle prowl in the 400 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue. A camera was reported stolen from the vehicle.

Driver Arrested on DUI Charge

• Tyler J. Diamond, 25, of Winlock, was arrested after a traffic stop at 1:38 a.m. Thursday in the 500 block of Northwest Pacific Avenue on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Collision Reported Between Vehicle and Bike

• At 2:56 p.m. on Thursday, a collision between a bike and an SUV was reported near the intersection of Sixth Street and Market Boulevard in Chehalis. No further information was available. 

Rollover Accident Reported

• At 5:16 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a rollover accident in the 1700 block of North National Avenue in Chehalis. No further information was available.

Cars Egged

• At 9:35 a.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a vehicle being egged in the 600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. An officer responded and reported that about 12 cars were egged in the area. 

Teen Arrested on Assault Charge

• A 15-year-old Chehalis girl was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, after police responded at 3:57 p.m. Saturday to a report of an assault in the 200 block of Southwest 11th Street.

Vehicle Crashes into Water

• At 6 p.m. Saturday, police received a report that a vehicle crashed into a pond or swampy area near the intersection of Maryland Avenue and State Street in Chehalis. No further information was available.

Slow-Cooking Shoplifter Arrested

• Police received a report at 7:21 p.m. Saturday of a shoplifter in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. Corey M. Christensen, 24, of Rochester, was arrested on suspicion of third-degree theft. He allegedly tried to return a coffee maker that had not been purchased at that store, then tried to leave without paying for a slow-cooker.

Suspect Punches Door, Knocks Over Garbage Cans

• At 3:45 a.m. on Monday, police received a report of a man punching a door and ripping the handle off in the 100 block of Southeast 6th Street. The man then reportedly got in a car and drove away, knocking over garbage cans in the process.

Suspect Jumps Fence to Steal Stereo

• At 12:24 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a burglary and vehicle prowl in the 200 block of East Main Street. A suspect reportedly jumped a fence and stole a stereo from a parked vehicle.

Grocery Thief Reported

• At 2:33 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a third-degree theft in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia. A woman reportedly walked out of a store with a bag of groceries without paying for them. 

Fence Damaged in Hit and Run

• At 4:32 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a hit and run in the 700 block of Tower Avenue. A fence was damaged. 

Purses Stolen from Cars

• At 6:02 p.m. on Friday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 1300 block of Logan Street. A purse was stolen. 

• At 8:20 p.m. on Friday, a purse was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 500 block of Hunt Street.

Justin Bieber Look-a-like Passes Fake $100

• At 7:21 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a person trying to use a counterfeit $100 in the 100 block of West High Street. A witness described the suspect as a white male with hair like Justin Bieber, according to the Centralia Police Department. 

Would-Be Bank Burglar Uses Drive-Through

• At 9:47 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to a report of an attempted burglary in the 200 block of North Pearl Street at Umpqua Bank. A man was seen trying to open the bank’s drive-through window.

Roommate Reports Assault

• At 3:16 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to a report of a fourth-degree assault in the 200 block of North Ash Street. A person reported being assaulted by a roommate. The suspect fled before police arrived. 

Woman Arrested on Warrant, Violating Protection Order

• Katherine Hopgood, 28, a transient, was arrested on suspicion of violation of a protection order, obstructing an officer and on an outstanding warrant after officers responded at 7:17 p.m. on Saturday near the intersection of Magnolia Street and Tower Avenue.

Woman Suspected of Possessing Stolen Property, Meth

• Stephanie Case, 27, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of trafficking in stolen property and possession of methamphetamine at 12:49 a.m. Sunday in the 600 block of Harrison Avenue.

Saw Stolen from Trailer

• At 6:16 a.m. on Sunday, police received a report of a vehicle prowl in the 1700 block of West Reynolds Avenue. An unknown suspect allegedly cut a lock on a trailer and took a power saw and flashlight. 

Air Compressor Taken

• At 1:18 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report that an air compressor was stolen in the 500 block of West Pine Street in the past few days.  

Men Arrested on Assault Charges

• Marquis Rial, 18, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault after police responded to a report of an assault at 5:53 p.m. on Saturday in the 1100 block of Long Road. Rial allegedly punched a woman and punched holes in a wall.

• James R. Payne, 34, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, after officers responded at 8:02 p.m. Sunday to a report of an assault in the 1000 block of Scammon Creek Road in Centralia.

Items Stolen from Vehicle

• At 1:41 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report that lights were stolen off a sand rail in the 100 block of North Gold Street. 

Robbery Reported, Victim Refuses to Pursue Charges

• At 7:58 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to a report of a robbery near the Intersection of Mellen Street and Airport Road in Centralia. The victim reported that a suspect beat him up and took his property, but then refused to pursue charges, according to the Centralia Police Department. 

Man Arrested for Allegedly Kicking Officer

• Allen Baker, 44, of Longview, was arrested at 11:20 p.m. on Monday on suspicion of third-degree assault after allegedly kicking a police officer. 

Rental Truck Stolen

• At 1:25 p.m. on Monday, police received a report that a rental truck was stolen in the 1000 block of South Gold Street. The truck was recovered in Chehalis. 

Video Games Taken in Burglary

• At 9:12 a.m. on Monday, police received a report of a burglary in the 900 block of G Street. Games and gaming systems were reported stolen.

Officers Investigate Stolen Credit Card

• At 10:38 a.m. on Monday, a credit card stolen in Thurston County was reportedly used in the 1200 block of Mellen Street in Centralia to buy gasoline. The case is under investigation. 

Morton/Mossyrock

Harassing Text Messages Reported

• At 6:29 p.m. on Nov. 24, police responded to the 100 block of Adams Avenue in Morton after a person reported receiving threatening text messages.

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

No Injuries Reported in Crash on Icy Road

• At 6:11 a.m. on Saturday  a one-car crash was reported in the 400 block of Big Hanaford Road. A 53-year-old Winlock man reported the 2007 Ford truck he was driving spun out on ice and ended up in a ditch. The truck was totaled. The driver was not injured.

Deputies Investigate Crash

• At 11:08 a.m. on Saturday, a crash was reported in the 200 block of Penning Road in Chehalis. The 82 year-old Chehalis man driving a 2004 Dodge Dakota was not injured. The truck sustained major damage. The crash is under investigation.

Winlock, Tumwater Men Arrested on DUI Charge

• Erik D. Gardin, 34, of Winlock, was arrested on suspicion of DUI at 1:24 a.m. Sunday on state Route 603 near Hawkins Road in Winlock.

• Devon J. Cary, 27, of Tumwater, was arrested at 3:10 a.m. Monday on suspicion of DUI at exit 80 of northbound Interstate 5.

Man Arrested on Suspicion of Violating No Contact Order

• Gerald R. Ebner, 49, of Chehalis, was arrested at 10:45 p.m. Nov. 25 in the 600 block of Centralia-Alpha Road on suspicion of violating a no-contact order. Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area, and contacted the vehicle’s registered owner, Ebner. When they talked to him, he was in the same apartment as a 32-year-old woman he had been ordered by the court to not contact. Ebner reportedly told deputies he was aware of the court order but wanted to spend Thanksgiving with the woman.
