Shelton Man Sent Summons in Assault Case

• At 8:43 a.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a report of an assault in the 1000 block of Harrison Avenue. A 24-year-old Shelton man is being sent a court summons on a charge of fourth-degree assault. 

 

Burglaries Reported

• At 9:05 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a burglary at a business in the 1200 bock of South Gold Street. No arrests were made.

• At 10:44 p.m. on Thursday, a burglary was reported to a home in the 500 block of Lakeshore Drive. The case is under investigation. 

 

Purse Stolen From Vehicle

• At 1:53 p.m. on Wednesday, a purse was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 400 block of North Tower Avenue.  

 

Bicycle Theft Suspect Sent Summons

• At 3:19 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a bicycle theft in the 400 block of West Main Street. A 28-year-old Centralia man is being sent a summons on a charge of third-degree theft. The victim reportedly caught the suspect riding the bike and took it back. 

 

Man Cited for Theft From Deli

• At 3:46 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a report of a theft in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue. James J. Ayres-Brewer, 27, of Chehalis, was cited on suspicion of third-degree theft after allegedly taking deli items from a store. 

 

Man Steals Purses

• At 12:21 p.m. on Thursday, a theft was reported in the 1300 block of Lum Road. An unknown suspect reportedly took two purses. The case is under investigation. 

 

Victim Reports Identity Theft

• At 12:23 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of identity theft from the 1200 block of Alder Street. The victim reported someone used his personal information to open an internet company account in South Carolina.

 

Shoplifting Suspect Arrested

• At 1:51 p.m. on Thursday, police responded to the 500 block of South Tower Avenue and arrested Kevin L. Kilgore, 50, of Centralia, on suspicion of third-degree theft for allegedly shoplifting. 

 

Money Stolen

• At 6:21 p.m. on Thursday, a person reported a large sum of money was missing in the 100 block of South Pearl Street. 

 

Suspect in ‘Dine and Dash’ Threatens Restaurant Manager

• At 1:15 a.m. on Friday, police received a report of a robbery in the 1000 block of Harrison Avenue. A male suspect allegedly ate food without paying, then threatened the restaurant’s manager. 

 

Chehalis Police Department

Fraud

• At 11:38 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of fraud in the 1100 block of Southeast Evergreen Drive. A woman reported her ex-husband was writing her bad checks. 

• At noon on Wednesday, fraud was reported in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

 

Burglary

• At 1:17 p.m. on Wednesday, a burglary was reported in the 400 block of North Market Boulevard. 

 

Hit and Run

• At 6:02 p.m. on Wednesday, a hit and run was reported in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue. 

 

Tools, Purse Stolen From Vehicle

• At 4:48 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to the 300 block of West Main Street for a report of a theft. A woman reported she parked in the area and found tools and a purse were taken from her vehicle. The woman identified suspects in the area, who were contacted by police. The officer learned in the course of the investigation that the woman wasn’t the owner of the prowled vehicle and that the real owner wanted it back. Kody L. Howard, 27, of Winlock, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree theft and referred to prosecutors on suspicion of vehicle prowl and third-degree theft. 

 

Trespassers Reported

• At 8:49 p.m. on Wednesday, a trespasser was reported in a store in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

• At 12:53 a.m. on Thursday, a trespasser was reported in the 200 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue. 

• At 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, a trespasser was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. No arrests were made. 

 

One Arrested After Assault Report

• At 10:04 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a report of an altercation in the 500 block of Southwest McFadden Avenue. Steven L. McSweeney, 39, of Chehalis, was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.
