CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Vehicle Prowls

• At 9:31 a.m. Friday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 200 block of Denny Way. Someone stole a checkbook.

• At 4:21 p.m. Friday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 1200 block of Windsor Avenue. A stereo speaker was stolen.

• At 3:19 p.m. Saturday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 100 block of West High Street. Someone stole a laptop computer.

Suspect Booked for Trespassing, Giving False Name

• At 11:01 a.m. Friday, police responded to the 1100 block of Crosby Avenue and arrested Matthew R. Reynolds, 32, of Centralia on suspicion of first-degree criminal trespass, second-degree criminal trespass, obstructing a public servant and making a false statement to a public servant. Reynolds allegedly entered a residence and property unlawfully and attempted to run from police when they arrived. Reynolds then allegedly provided five false names to officers.

 

Assault Suspects Booked

• At 11:54 a.m. Friday, police responded to the 200 block of L Street and arrested Sherri L. Mathews, 54, of Centralia on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence.

• At 5:01 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 1100 block of South Silver Street and arrested Maria L. Ortiz, 29, of Chehalis on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence.

• At 4:12 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the 1500 block of Lewis Street and arrested Huston Shoniber, 35, of Spokane on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence and malicious mischief.

 

Thefts

• At 5:22 p.m. Friday, a theft of a Stihl weed eater was reported in the 800 block of North Pearl Street.

• At 5:47 p.m. Friday, a theft of medication was reported in the 1800 block of Beach Street.

• At 7:51 p.m. Friday, a theft of a pair of jeans was reported from a retail store in the 1200 block of Lum Road.

• At 8:27 p.m. Friday, a theft of a cellphone was reported in the 600 block of West Pearl Street.

• At 12:54 a.m. Saturday, a theft of a package was reported in the 900 block of F Street.

• At 11:16 p.m. Saturday, a theft of a package was reported in the 1700 block of Harrison Avenue.

 

Driver Cited for Suspended License, Lacking Interlock Device

• At 9:24 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 2000 block of Borst Avenue and cited a 50-year-old Centralia man on suspicion of driving on a suspended license and failing to have an ignition interlock device.

 

Garage Door Vandalized

• At 7:26 a.m. Saturday, a caller in the 400 block of North Diamond Street reported graffiti to a garage door.

 

Door, Frame Damaged

• At 9:38 a.m. Saturday, a caller in the 1100 block of North Washington Avenue reported damage to a door and a door frame.

Hit and Runs

• At 1:02 p.m. Saturday, a hit and run was reported in the 2000 block of Cooks Hill Road.

• At 7:36 p.m. Sunday, a hit and run was reported in the 1900 block of Ahlers Avenue.

 

Suspect Booked for Allegedly Spitting on Nurse

• At 5:12 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 900 block of South Scheuber Road and arrested Scott A. Rousse, 22, of Washougal on suspicion of third-degree assault. Rousse allegedly spat in a nurses face while at a healthcare facility.

 

Man Allegedly Assaults Healthcare Facility Staff Member

• At 5:53 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1800 block of Cooks Hill Road and referred charges to prosecutors of third-degree assault and interfering with a healthcare facility against a 72-year-old Chehalis man. The man allegedly interrupted operations at the facility with disruptive and abusive behavior and assaulted a member of the staff.

 

Suspect Cited for Repeated Frivolous 911 Calls

• At 6:33 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 300 block of West Pine Street and arrested and released a 69-year-old Centralia woman on suspicion of telephone harassment. The woman allegedly repeatedly called 911 for frivolous reasons.

 

Car Damaged Overnight

• At 4:19 a.m. Sunday, a caller in the 1900 block of Ahlers Avenue reported someone apparently kicked a car sometime overnight, causing some damage.

 

Collision in Parking Lot Causes Leg Injury

• At 1:28 p.m. Sunday, police went to the 500 block of Harrison Avenue, where two vehicles collided in a parking lot. The collision caused for one person’s leg to be pinned in a car door.

 

Teen Arrested, Released for Public Intoxication

• At 11:09 p.m. Sunday police arrested and released a 19-year-old Centralia man on suspicion of being a minor intoxicated in a public place.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Money Stolen out of Bank Account

• At 2:30 p.m. Friday, a caller in the 1700 block of Southwest Snively Avenue reported having money stolen out of a bank account. 

Man Throws Beer Cans Into Road, Picks Fights with Motorists

• At 2:33 p.m. Friday, a caller in the 1200 block of Northwest State Avenue reported a man was walking down the middle of the road, throwing beer cans in the roadway and trying to pick fights with people as they drove by.

 

Hit and Run

• At 2:08 p.m. Friday, a hit and run was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.

 

Thefts

• At 8:53 p.m. Friday, a theft of several food items was reported in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard.

• At 6:54 p.m. Saturday, a theft of a wallet was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.

 

Man Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle

• At 8:33 a.m. Saturday, a man was struck by a vehicle at 13th Street and William Avenue. The man suffered some shoulder pain.

 

Teen Arrested, Released for Theft

• At 4:06 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and arrested and released a 16-year-old Chehalis girl on suspicion of third-degree theft.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 228 inmates, with 195 in general population, 32 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center and one on work release. Of general population inmates, 160 were men and 35 were women and of WERC inmates with agencies outside Lewis County.
