Suspect Arrested on Drug Charge, Warrant After

Traffic Stop

• At 3:26 a.m. on Tuesday, police stopped a vehicle in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. One occupant was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant and another occupant, identified as Ashley E. Howland, 31, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and on an outstanding state Department of Corrections warrant.  

Thefts

• At 11:25 a.m. on Tuesday, a third-degree theft was reported in the 1900 block of South Market Boulevard. 

• At 6:26 a.m. on Wednesday, a third-degree theft was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.  

Centralia Police Department

Credit Card Fraud Reported

• At 10:52 a.m. on Monday, police received a report of credit card fraud in the 300 block of North Tower Avenue. A person reported their credit card was used by an unknown person. 

Vehicle Stolen, Recovered in Thurston County

• At 1:25 p.m. on Monday, a vehicle was reported stolen in the 700 block of Harrison Avenue. The vehicle was later recovered in Thurston County. 

Theft Reported at Retail Store

• At 1:59 p.m. on Monday, a theft was reported in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue. 

Protection Order Violated

• At 11:49 a.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of a violation of a protection order in the 700 block of Harrison Avenue. A 42-year-old Centralia man is being referred to prosecutors on suspicion of violation of a court order. 

Business Reports Pallets Stolen

• At 4:40 a.m. on Tuesday, a business in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue reported pallets stolen. 

Vehicle Prowl

• At 8:40 a.m. on Tuesday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 200 block of South King Street. 

Suspect Arrested on Drug Charge

• At 9:26 a.m. on Tuesday, police responded to the 900 block of South Scheuber Road and arrested Michael C. Witzel, 70, of Chehalis, on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine. 

Dentures Stolen

• At 2:02 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of dentures stolen in the 300 block of Lowe Street. A person reported their dentures were stolen three months ago when they were sleeping in a park. 

Forgery Reported

• At 1:43 p.m on Tuesday, a possible forgery was reported in the 1400 block of Harrison Avenue. 

Graffiti Reported

• At 4:04 p.m. on Tuesday, graffiti was reported on a fence in the 800 block of Park Way.  

Hat Stolen

• At 6:11 p.m. on Tuesday, a hat was reported stolen from a store in the 1400 block of Lum Road. 

Lewis County Jail Statistics

As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 220 inmates, including 191 in general population, 27 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center and two on work release. Of general population inmates, 155 were male and 36 were female and of WERC inmates, 26 were male and one was female.
