Sirens: Student Allegedly in Possession of Controlled Substance, Brass Knuckles; Fraud Reported

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Driver Cited for Suspended License

• At 10:31 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to exit 81 of Interstate 5 and cited a 48-year-old Centralia resident on suspicion of third-degree driving on a suspended license.

 

Stolen Vehicle Recovered

• At 11:19 a.m. Wednesday, a vehicle stolen in Thurston County was found in the 1200 block of Alder Street. It was unoccupied and returned to its owner.

 

Hit and Run

• At 12:42 p.m. Wednesday, a hit and run was reported in the 600 block of Harrison Avenue.

 

Police Investigate Assault

• At 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, a person in the 100 block of West Maple Street reported an assault. The person said they were struck in the face by an unknown male subject.

 

Juvenile Referred on Theft Charge

• At 8:16 a.m. Thursday, police responded to the 800 block of Eshom Road and referred a juvenile to the prosecutor’s office on suspicion of third-degree theft.

 

Suspect Arrested, Released for Giving False Name

• At 9:23 a.m. Thursday, police responded to the 1000 block of Scammon Creek Road and arrested and released a 22-year-old Centralia man on suspicion of providing false information to a public servant. The suspect allegedly gave a false name to an officer who was investigating a family dispute.

 

Vehicle Prowl

• At 2:24 p.m. Thursday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 1100 block of Creekside Court.

 

Burglary

• At 6:04 p.m. Thursday, a burglary was reported in the 800 block of South Silver Street. Miscellaneous tools were stolen from an unlocked garage.

 

Police Find Drugs During Warrant Arrest

• At 5:16 a.m. Friday, police responded to the 1200 block of Mellen Street and arrested Levi S. Ramirez, 31, of Rochester on suspicion of possession of meth and heroin. Police reported finding the drugs on Ramirez as they were arresting him on a Department of Corrections warrant.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Fraud Reported

• At 11:31 a.m. Wednesday, a fraudulent use of a credit card was reported in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.

 

Student Allegedly in Possession of Controlled Substance, Brass Knuckles

• At 2:10 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 1000 block of Southwest 20th Street and reported finding a 13-year-old Chehalis boy to be in possession of a controlled substance and brass knuckles on school property. A drug and weapon charge were referred to the prosecutor’s office.

 

Theft

• At 2:13 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard, where a male subject in his late teens or early 20s wrapped two bottles of alcohol up in a sweatshirt and left a business.

 

Charge Referred for Reported Assault

• At 2:55 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 300 block of Southwest 16th Street and referred a 15-year-old Chehalis girl to the prosecutor’s office on suspicion of fourth-degree assault. The girl allegedly punched another girl.

 

Woman Tries Using Counterfeit Bill at Business

• At 3:51 p.m. Wednesday, police were notified that a woman went into a business in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue, tried to pay with a fake $100 bill and then ran away.

 

Hit and Runs

• At 11:44 a.m. Thursday, a hit and run was reported in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue.

• At 4:14 p.m. Thursday, a hit and run was reported in the 300 block of Southwest 16th Street.

Theft

• At 2:07 p.m. Thursday, a theft of multiple items was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. A caller notified police a man had filled a backpack with mostly hardware items and left the store, but ultimately left the backpack behind.

 

Violation of Protection Order Reported

• At 7 p.m. Thursday, a caller in the 1500 block of North National Avenue reported a man was violating the conditions of a protection order.

 

Woman Seen Running Away From Man

• At 9:51 p.m. Thursday, a caller in the 1500 block of Rice Road reported seeing a woman appearing to be running away from a man.

 

Two People Attempt Vehicle Prowl in Parking Lot

• At 10:35 p.m. Thursday, a caller in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue reported seeing two people attempting to break into a car in a parking lot. The caller said he yelled at the two people and they ran inside a business.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 233 inmates, with 203 in general population, 29 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center and one on work release. Of general population inmates, 171 were men and 32 were women and of WERC inmates, 24 were men and five were women. A total of 34 inmates were booked through contracts outside Lewis County.
