CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Man Arrested for Probation Violation

• At 7:43 a.m. Friday, police responded to the 100 block of West Maple Street and arrested Nathaniel J. Orosco, 22, of Centralia on suspicion of probation violation.

 

Thefts

• At 1:11 p.m. Friday, a theft of personal property, which was left unspecified in police reports, was reported in the 2400 block of North Pearl Street.

• At 9:27 p.m. Friday, a caller in the 800 block of South Gold Street reported a package was stolen from their front porch.

• At 7:26 p.m. Sunday, a theft of clothing was reported from a store in the 1400 block of Lum Road. A male subject was seen running from the store with about five clothing items with hangers still attached.

 Assault Suspect Booked

• At 5:21 a.m. Friday, police responded to the 1800 block of North Pearl Street and arrested Cynthia L. Cardiel, 24, of Centralia on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence.

 

Suspect Booked for Alleged Incident in Hospital

• At 11:01 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 900 block of South Scheuber Road and arrested Steven W. Stewart, 53, of Centralia on suspicion of third-degree malicious mischief and interfering with a healthcare facility. Stewart allegedly became upset in the hospital and began throwing his clothes and yelling in a hallway, breaking a phone on the wall in the process.

 

Man Booked on Probation Violation

• At 2:17 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 100 block of West Maple Street and arrested Joseph W. Anderson, 32, of Centralia on suspicion of probation violation.

 

Man Arrested After Allegedly Becoming Disorderly at Parade

• At 7:23 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 100 block of South Pearl Street and took Adam P. Stroud, 38, of Centralia to the hospital for intoxication after he allegedly was acting disorderly at the Lighted Tractor Parade. Stroud allegedly assaulted a nurse at the hospital and was found to be in possession of meth.

 

Man Booked for Assault

• At 6:37 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the 1400 block of West Main Street and arrested Craig R. Mader, 34, of Centralia on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence. A 33-year-old Centralia resident was issued a summons on suspicion of third-degree malicious mischief — domestic violence.

 

Driving Under Influence 

• At 3:46 a.m. Monday, police responded to the 1400 block of Johnson Road and arrested Randy D. Reyes, 34, of Centralia on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Passenger Causes Ruckus on Bus

• At 7:50 a.m. Friday, a caller in the 100 block of Northeast Hampe Way reported a drunken bus passenger was refusing to get off at his stop.

 

Person Has ‘Melt Down,’ Throws Trash

• At 8:13 a.m. Friday, a caller in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue reported a woman was having some sort of “melt down” and was throwing trash and waving her arms.

 

Trespass Suspects Reported

• At 9:34 a.m. Friday, police were requested in the 100 block of Northeast Hampe Way, where a male subject was refusing to leave a spot where he was previously trespassed. No arrests were reported.

• At 1:22 p.m. Friday, a caller in the 2100 block of North National Avenue reported a male subject who was previously trespassed was in the area. No arrests were reported.

 

Thefts

• At 7:09 p.m. Friday, a theft of a cellphone was reported in the 500 block of Northwest Rhode Island Place.

• At 6:18 p.m. Sunday, a theft of $500 in cash was reported in the 1600 block of North National Avenue.

 

Man Refuses to Leave While Looking for E-Cigarette

• At 8:20 p.m. Friday, a caller in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue reported a man was on the ground with a flashlight, claiming to be looking for an e-cigarette. The man was there for about 25 minutes, said the caller, who was suspicious the man was up to no good.

 

Suspect Takes Off After Attempted Vehicle Prowl

• At 7:16 a.m. Saturday, police were requested in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue after a caller said a man tried to enter their parked car, but failed and drove away.

 

Someone Cuts Lights to Christmas Display

• At 10:12 a.m. Saturday, a caller in the 100 block of Southeast Westside Drive reported someone had intentionally cut the lights to their Christmas display.

 

Man Seen Throwing, Jumping on Dog

• At 11:35 a.m. Saturday, a caller in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue reported a male subject was abusing a dog by throwing it and jumping on it. No arrests were reported.

 

Vehicle Prowls

• At 2:10 p.m. Saturday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 1900 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue.

• At 6:48 p.m. Sunday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. Items had been moved around, but initially it appeared nothing was taken.

 

Man and Woman Seen Hitting One Another

• At 4:55 p.m. Saturday, a caller in the 400 block of Southwest William Avenue reported a man and a woman were walking down the street engaging in a physical dispute. The man was hitting the woman, the caller said, and the woman in turn slapped the man.

 

Fraudulent Charges Found on Account

• At 6:12 p.m. Saturday, a caller in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue reported finding two fraudulent charges, to the tune of $560, reported on their account.

 

DUI Suspect Booked

• At 12:52 a.m. Sunday, police responded to Park Street and Market Boulevard and arrested Carol A. Fox, 70, of Chehalis on suspicion of operating while intoxicated.

 

Suspect Walks Down Road, Goes Through Mailboxes

• At 9:36 a.m. Sunday, a caller in the 400 block of Southwest Newaukum Avenue reported a woman was walking down the road and looking through people’s mailboxes.

 

LEWIS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

 

Suspect Arrested for Allegedly Tackling Person

• At 8:06 p.m. Friday, deputies responded to the 100 block of Hawkins Road, Winlock and arrested Joseph K. McCourt, 36, of Olympia on suspicion of second-degree assault. McCourt allegedly got into an argument with a man and tackled him. The victim suffered from a broken bone.

 

Assault Suspect Arrested

• At 2:24 p.m. Saturday, deputies responded to the 100 block of Sunnycrest Lane, Packwood and arrested Alexis M. Conway Newton, 21, of Packwood on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence. Newton allegedly struck someone in the head during an argument.

 

Deputies Investigate Break-In

• At 1:01 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to a burglary in the 100 block of Sierra Drive, Salkum. Someone broke into a garage and a shed and stole tools.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 239 inmates, with 206 in general population, 31 in the work ethic and restitution center and two on work release. Of general population inmates, 161 were male and 45 were female and of WERC inmates, 28 were male and three were female. A total of 32 inmates were booked through contracts outside Lewis County.
