Sirens: Shoplifters Get Away; Suspicious Person Bangs on Doors; Wild Cat Reported

Centralia Police Department 

Check Fraud Reported

• At 10:03 a.m. on Friday, police received a report of fraud in the 1300 block of South Gold Street. A woman reported several checks were missing from her checkbook and had been used without her knowledge.

Quad Stolen in Burglary

• At 11:38 a.m. on Friday, police received a report of a burglary in the 400 block of Harrison Avenue. An unknown suspect took a green Polaris quad from a shed on the property. 

Man Arrested for DUI After Collision

• At 5:10 p.m. on Friday, police arrested Dale D. Wilson, 49, of Centralia, on suspicion of driving under the influence in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue after a minor traffic collision.  

Driver Leaves Scene After Accident

• At 7:29 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a traffic collision at the intersection of Plum and Pearl streets. A tan Toyota Camry reportedly ran a stop sign, forcing oncoming traffic to swerve to avoid it. The driver of the Toyota left the scene of the incident. 

Vehicle Prowls

• At 11:57 p.m. on Friday, softball equipment was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 500 block of Ash Street. 

• At 8:49 a.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a theft from a vehicle in the 700 block of South Silver Street. A suspect reportedly used a rock to break the car’s passenger window, then took a purse from the vehicle.

• At 12:26 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a vehicle prowl in the 300 block of Lakeshore Drive. A binder of paperwork was removed from a truck.

• At 12:23 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report of a vehicle prowl in the 900 block of F Street.

• At 6:49 p.m. on Sunday, a wallet was reported stolen from a car in the 900 block of North Washington Avenue. 

California SUV Suspected in Hit and Run

• At 10:56 a.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a hit and run collision at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Russell Road. The vehicle that left the scene of the accident is described as a dark tan SUV with California license plates. 

Men Booked for Disorderly Conduct

• At 12:59 a.m. on Sunday, Andre B. Laroche, 32, of Edmonds, was arrested and booked on suspicion of disorderly conduct at the intersection of Tower Avenue and Locust Street. 

• At 2:23 a.m. on Monday, Jose S. Torrence, 22, of Winlock, was arrested on suspicion of third-degree malicious mischief and disorderly conduct in the 100 block of North Tower Avenue.

Woman Arrested on Warrant After Giving False Name

• At 4:19 a.m. on Sunday, police contacted a woman sitting in a vehicle thought to be suspicious. The woman allegedly gave a false name. Officers arrested the woman, Kristina S. Bailey, 21, on outstanding warrants. 

Tire Slashed

• At 10:57 a.m. on Sunday, police received a report of a slashed tire in the 500 block of North Railroad Avenue. 

Woman Arrested on Trespass Charge

• At 1:56 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to reports of a woman entering a vacant home in the 500 block of Yew Street. An officer arrived and arrested Sara M. Culp, 33, on suspicion of trespass and on misdemeanor warrants. Officers also reportedly found several credit cards in Culp’s possession that were not in her name. Officers are continuing to investigate the cards. 

Shoplifters Get Away

• At 6:14 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report of a suspected shoplifter in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue. The suspect, a woman, reportedly left the scene with a man in a black 2006 Saturn Ion. 

Man Booked on Drug Charge

• At 9:01 p.m. on Sunday, police arrested Jeremiah R. Johnson, 31, of Centralia, on suspicion of possession of heroin in the 900 block of North Washington Avenue. 

 

Chehalis Police Department

Two Arrested After Reported Shoplifting

• At 10:35 a.m. on Friday, police received a report of a theft in progress in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. Arianna K. Davis, 19, of Kelso, was arrested on suspicion of third-degree theft, second-degree burglary and resisting arrest. She is accused of taking more than $455 in merchandise. Benjamin J. Vivian, 36, of Longview, was booked on a U.S. Marshals Service warrant.  

One Arrested on Drug Charge

• At 8:15 p.m. on Friday, police responded to a report of a man allegedly trespassing in a store in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. Officers contacted the subject and, while arresting him, reportedly found heroin in his possession. Nicholas A. Huston, 23, of Chehalis, was arrested on suspicion of possession of heroin.  

Man Arrested After Dispute

• At 10:48 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to a report of a physical dispute in the 200 block of Northwest State Avenue. Damion R. Haddican, 24, of Chehalis, was arrested on suspicion of violation of a protection order.  

One Booked for Assault

• At 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to reports of an assault in the 1500 block of North National Avenue. Sonda L. Alm, 44, of Port Angeles, was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault. 

Two Teens Charged with MIP

• At 10:03 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of teens with alcohol and marijuana in an alley near the intersection of Cascade Avenue and 11th Street. An ambulance was also called when one teen had a seizure. One 15-year-old Chehalis girl was charged with being a minor in possession of alcohol and a second was charged with possession of marijuana and use of drug paraphernalia, according to the Chehalis Police Department.  

Suspected Shoplifters Reported

• At 6:55 a.m. on Sunday, a suspected shoplifter was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. No arrests were made. 

• At 11:51 a.m. on Sunday, police received a report of a possible shoplifter in the 700 block of South Market Boulevard. A woman was seen taking a wicker shelf. No arrests were made.

Suspicious Person Seen Banging on Doors

• At 7:21 a.m. on Sunday, police received a report of a suspicious man in an army-style coat and stocking cap banging on front doors and yelling in the 100 block of Northwest Prindle Street. 

Wild Cat Reported

• At 9:14 a.m. on Sunday, a woman reported seeing an animal that looked like a lynx on Southwest 12th Street in Chehalis. 

Alleged Shoplifter Arrested

• Kimberly A. Lopez, 47, of Chehalis, was arrested on suspicion of third-degree theft at 12:43 p.m. Sunday in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. She is accused of taking $98.45 in merchandise. 

 

Morton Police Department

Officers Respond to Report of Suspicious Person

• At 9:01 p.m., on Friday, police responded to a report of a suspicious person in the 200 block of Laurel Street in Mossyrock. Officers were unable to locate a suspect. 

Animal Abuse Reported

• At 10:05 p.m. on Friday, police responded to the 200 block of Second Street in Morton to a report of animal abuse. Officers found no obvious signs of abuse. 

Officers Investigate Dispute

• At 1:13 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report of a possible dispute in the 400 block of Knittles Way in Morton. The dispute is still under investigation. 

 

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

Mt. Vernon Driver Arrested on DUI Charge

• At 12:41 a.m. on Saturday, Shane E. Young, 45, of Mt. Vernon, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and third-degree driving with a suspended license in the 100 block of Avery Road West. 

One Injured in Ice-Related Crash

• A 52-year-old Packwood man was injured when his vehicle skidded off an icy road and rolled at 2:50 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of Cannon Road in Packwood. The man’s 2003 Ford Ranger was totaled and the man had a broken arm. He was transported to Morton General Hospital.
