Sirens: Shirtless Man Accused of Stealing Battery, Motorcycle Stolen, Recovered After Joyride, Bellevue Residents Arrested in Possession of Stolen Trailer

Hit and Runs

• At 1:24 p.m. on Monday, a hit and run was reported in the 200 block of South Pearl Street. 

• At 9:07 a.m. on Tuesday, a hit and run was reported in the 400 block of North Pearl Street. The fleeing vehicle was described as a green passenger car. 

Woman Reports Possessions Stolen During Jail Stint

• At 12:23 p.m. on Monday, police received a report of thefts from the 800 block of L Street. A woman reported her possessions were stolen while she was in the Lewis County Jail. 

Suspects Referred for Charges After Alleged Shoplifting

• At 4:45 p.m. on Monday, police responded to the 1400 block of Lum Road to a report of shoplifting. Four suspects — of Federal Way, Auburn and Tacoma — are being referred to prosecutors on charges of organized retail theft and second-degree possession of stolen property. They were reportedly caught stealing from a retail store with “shoplifting tools” in their possession, according to the Centralia Police Department. 

Attempted Theft from Truck Reported

• At 2:24 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of an attempted theft in the 1000 block of North Pearl Street. A victim reported an unknown suspect, described as a 25 to 30-year-old man with red hair, attempted to steal tools out of the back of his truck. The victim reportedly chased the suspect and recovered his tools, but the suspect fled before police arrived. 

Victim Reports Unauthorized Bank Charges

• At 3:44 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of unauthorized charges to a bank account from a victim in the 3300 block of Galvin Road in Centralia. The case is under investigation. 

Suspect Arrested After Allegedly Kicking Vehicle

• At 4:01 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to a report of malicious mischief in the 600 block of West Second Street and arrested Leo R. Rogowska, 19, of Centralia, on suspicion of second-degree malicious mischief, domestic violence. He was accused of kicking a vehicle, causing damage. 

DUI

• At 4:48 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to the intersection of Pearl Street and Reynolds Road and arrested Kendra W. Enfield, 23, of Tumwater, on suspicion of driving under the influence 

Suspect Contacted for Trespassing Report, Arrested on Warrants, Drug Charges

• At 1:47 a.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a report of a trespasser in the 1000 block of Eckerson Road and arrested Benjamin T. Sternberg, 25, of Centralia, on suspicion of criminal trespass, possession of heroin and outstanding warrants. 

Truck Stolen

• At 4:56 p.m. on Wednesday, a green 2000 Ford F-150 truck was reported stolen from a residence in the 2900 block of Mt. Vista Road. The truck was later found in Thurston County. The case is under investigation.

Hit and Runs

• At 10:23 a.m. on Monday, a hit and run was reported in a parking lot in the 1500 block of North National Avenue. 

• At 2:52 p.m. on Monday, a hit and run was reported in the 100 block of Southwest 6th Street. 

Shirtless Man Accused of Stealing Battery

• At 3:06 p.m. on Monday, police received a report of a theft of a battery in the 200 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue. Witnesses described the suspect as a “shirtless male flexing his muscles in the area,” according to the Chehalis Police Department. 

Credit Card Fraud Reported

• At 4:36 p.m. on Monday, credit card fraud was reported in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard. 

• At 2:55 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of credit card fraud from the 500 block of Northwest St. Helens Avenue. 

Harassment Reported

• At 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, telephone harassment was reported in the 400 block of North Market Boulevard. No arrests were made. 

Theft

• At 2:31 p.m. on Tuesday, a third-degree theft was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

Ring Taken

• At 5:42 p.m. on Tuesday, a theft was reported in the 300 block of Southeast Valley View Way. The victim reported the ring was valued at $8,000.

Counterfeit Cash Spotted

• At 5:49 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of counterfeit cash found at a business in the 600 block of West Main Street. 

DUI

• At 11:56 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to the 1100 block of North National Avenue and with the help of the Washington State Patrol arrested Sarah J. Myer, 27, of Tenino, on suspicion of driving under the influence. 

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

Motorcycle Stolen, Recovered After Joyride

• At 6 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies took a report of a theft of a 1989 Yamaha XT350 motorcycle the previous night in the 700 block of Silverbrook Road in Randle. The vehicle was later recovered in a forested area behind the address. 

Bellevue Residents Arrested in Possession of Stolen Trailer

• At 6:42 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies responded to a report of a theft of a 2006 Olympic utility trailer in the 1200 block of state Route 603 in Chehalis. A victim reportedly saw a truck pulling his trailer out of a barn and field. Toledo police stopped the vehicle on Interstate 5. Sarah B. Torneby, 27, of Bellevue and Aaron J. Kiser, 37, of Bellevue were both arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary, second-degree theft and referred to prosecutors on suspicion of third-degree malicious mischief. They allegedly cut a padlock to a gate to steal the trailer.  

Suspect Booked on Warrant, Heroin Charge After Report of Suspicious Vehicle

• At 8:17 a.m. on Tuesday, deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 100 block of Olequa Court in Vader. Deputies contacted a male and female in a parked vehicle. Mitchell A. Moyer, 33, of Milwaukee, Oregon, was arrested on an outstanding warrant and on suspicion of possession of heroin. 

Lewis County Jail Statistics

• As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 228 inmates with 191 in general population, 35 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center and two on work release. Of general population inmates, 154 were men and 37 women and of WERC inmates, 31 were men and four women. A total of 19 inmates were booked through contracts with agencies outside Lewis County.
