Sirens: Sexual Assault Reported; Medication Stolen; Theft Suspect Booked on Felony Warrant

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Vehicle Prowl

• At 2:11 p.m. Tuesday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 200 block of Northeast Washington Avenue. A window was broken and a purse was stolen.

Theft Suspect Arrested and Released

• At 9:12 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and arrested and released a 41-year-old Centralia woman on suspicion of third-degree theft.

Caller Reports Attempted Break-In

• At 9:55 p.m. Tuesday, a caller in the 700 block of Northwest Pennsylvania Avenue reported someone tried to break into a residence through a bedroom window.

Burglary Suspect Arrested

• At 10:18 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and arrested Kaila R. White, 25, of Castle Rock on suspicion of second-degree burglary and possession of methamphetamine.

Bad Checks Reported

• At 8:54 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of unlawful issuance of bank checks in the 1200 block of Bishop Road. 

Fraud Reported

• At 1:05 p.m. on Wednesday, fraud was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.

Burglary

• At 6:28 p.m. on Wednesday, a burglary was reported in the 500 block of West Main Street. No arrests were made. 

Shoplifters Reported

• At 8:42 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a shoplifter in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

• At 11:40 p.m. on Wednesday, a shoplifter was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

Car Window Broken

• At 3:17 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of malicious mischief in the 300 block of Southwest 14th Street. A vehicle’s window was broken. 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Drivers Cited for Suspended License

• At 7:22 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 100 block of West Maple Street and cited a 25-year-old Centralia resident on suspicion of driving on a suspended license.

• At 7:31 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 300 block of North Pearl Street and cited a 26-year-old Centralia resident on suspicion of driving on a suspended license.

Sexual Assault Reported

• At 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, a possible sexual assault was reported in Centralia. An investigation is ongoing.

Suspects Booked for Protection Order Violation

• At 7:40 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 300 block of West Fourth Street and arrested Kristin J. Doege, 31, of Centralia on suspicion of violating a protection order.

• At 11:06 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 1200 block of Alder Street and arrested Ryan D. Ward, 39, of Olympia on suspicion of violating a no-contact order.

Suspect Arrested on Drug Charges

• At 6:56 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to Yew and Mellen streets and arrested Ramon Garcia-Simpson, 25, of Centralia on suspicion of possession of meth.

• At 5:18 p.m. on Thursday, police responded to the 1200 block of Mellen Street and arrested Kenneth W. Larkin, 32, of Pe Ell, on suspicion of possession of meth. He was arrested after allegedly trespassing on property he had previously been banned from. 

Vehicle Collision Causes Injury

• At 8:18 a.m. Wednesday, a two-vehicle collision at Centralia College Boulevard and Yew Street with injuries was reported. 

Hit and Run

• At 2:17 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a hit and run at the intersection of Sixth Avenue and B Street in Centralia. The report is under investigation.

Medication Stolen

• At 6:17 p.m. on Wednesday, medication was reported stolen in the 2800 block of Russell Road in Centralia. 

 

Vehicle Prowl

• At 9:40 a.m. on Thursday, a purse was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Jalyn Street. 

 

Theft Suspect Booked on Felony Warrant

• At 12:39 p.m. on Thursday, police responded to the 500 block of South Tower Avenue after receiving a report of a shoplifter. Sherri L. Scott, 36,

of Chehalis, was arrested on an outstanding state Department of Corrections felony warrant. 

 

Dog Food Taken

• At 1:13 p.m. on Thursday, dog food was reported stolen from the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue. 

Man Booked on Assault Charge

• At 7:50 p.m. on Thursday, police responded to the 1100 block of South Gold Street and arrested John I. Burkett, Jr., 25, of Centralia on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence. 

 

DUI

• At 10:27 p.m. on Thursday, police responded to the 1000 block of North Pearl Street and arrested Audrey C. Jacobsen, 31, of Centralia, on suspicion of driving under the influence. She had been involved in a collision. 

 

Lewis County Jail Statistics

As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 232 inmates, with 201 in general population, 30 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center and one on work release. Of general population inmates, 165 were men and 36 women and of WERC inmates, 27 were men and three women. A total of 31 inmates were booked through contracts with agencies outside Lewis County.
