Mushroom Hunter Listed as Missing Located

• At 11:38 p.m. Friday, deputies were alerted to a mushroom hunter who had gone missing off of Forest Service Road 108. The person was found at around 7 a.m. Sunday cold but in otherwise good health.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Several People Seen Camping on Private Property

• At 9:36 a.m. Friday, a caller in the 400 block of Northeast Alaskan Way said several individuals were out in the back of their property.

 

Shoplifted Items Discovered, Shoplifter on the Loose

• At 1:49 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue where staff recovered shoplifted items, but reported the suspect left the store as a passenger in a vehicle.

 

Minor Water Main Break Reported

• At 4:41 p.m. Friday, a water main break was reported in the 900 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue. The break was leaking slowly and didn’t appear to be causing substantial flooding.

 

Theft Suspects Booked

• At 6:04 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and arrested Star L. Johnson, 41, of Lacey on suspicion of third-degree theft.

• At 2:57 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and arrested Cheryl D. Oleachea, 55, of Chehalis on suspicion of third-degree theft.

• At 8 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and arrested Wendy A. Morris, 36, of Rochester on suspicion of third-degree theft.

 

Theft Reported

• At 2:57 p.m. Saturday, a theft of a wallet and a cellphone was reported on Southwest Chehalis Avenue. The items were recovered, except for credit cards.

 

Vehicle Prowl Reported

• At 7:02 p.m. Saturday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 1100 block of Southwest Sylvenus Street.

 

Suspect Booked for Drug Violation

• At 3:12 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the 300 block of Southwest Third Street and arrested Danielle L. Weaver, 27, of Chehalis on suspicion of inhaling toxic fumes.

 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

DOC Escape Custody Warrants

• At 8:43 a.m. Friday, police responded to the intersection of Tower Avenue and Hanson Street and arrested Juan P. Madera Romero, 28, of Centralia on a DOC escape community custody warrant.

• At 9:03 a.m. Friday, police responded to Northeast Median Street and arrested Anna L. Lowery, 31, of Centralia on a DOC escape community custody warrant. 

Vehicle Prowls

• At 9:16 a.m. Friday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue. A purse was stolen.

• At 9:35 a.m. Friday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue. A purse was stolen.

• At 11:34 a.m. Friday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 1100 block of West Plum Street. Nothing was reported stolen.

• At 12:22 a.m. Monday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 200 block of West Magnolia Street. A 32-piece wrench set and a box containing oil, flares and a lug wrench were stolen.

 

Thefts

• At 1:52 p.m. Friday, a theft of a passport was reported in the 500 block of South Pearl Street.

• At 7:46 p.m. Friday, a theft of a wallet was reported in the 1400 block of South Gold Street. The wallet was later recovered in Chehalis, but was missing cash and cards.

• At 3:50 p.m. Saturday, a theft of sunglasses was reported in the 600 block of South Tower Avenue.

 

Suspect Allegedly Found in Stolen Vehicle

• At 12:24 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1300 block of Harrison Avenue and arrested Cyrus J. Robinson, 39, of Centralia on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.

 

Police Arrest Assault Suspect

• At 2:11 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 2400 block of Seward Avenue and arrested John D. Lopes, 40, of Centralia on suspicion of second-degree assault.

Business Reports Property Theft

• At 10:25 a.m. Saturday, a business in the 1400 block of South Gold Street reported the theft of leased/rented property.

 

Suspect Booked for Allegedly Violating Protection Order

• At 2:29 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 2600 block of Fords Prairie Avenue and arrested Deborah A. Griffin, 67, of Centralia on suspicion of violating a no contact order.

 

Security Guard Stops Would-Be Burglar

• At 7:21 p.m. Saturday, an attempted burglary was reported in the 400 block of West Walnut Street. A security guard caught a suspect attempting to break into a building. The suspect ran off and was not located.

 

Hit and Runs

• At 7:34 p.m. Saturday, a hit and run was reported at Tilley Avenue and Lewis Street.

• At 10:25 a.m. Sunday, a hit and run was reported at Harrison Avenue and Interstate 5.

• At 12:17 p.m. Sunday, a hit and run that occurred Saturday was reported in the 1300 block of West Main Street.

 

Victim Threatened, Chased By Suspect with Knife

• At 7:51 p.m. Saturday, a person in the 100 block of South Silver Street was threatened and chased by a suspect wielding a knife.

 

Assault Suspect Booked

• At 11:22 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 700 block of M Street and arrested Chantee L. Bonagofski, 29, of Centralia on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence.

 

Vehicle Stolen

• At 2:19 a.m. Sunday, a theft of a green 1997 Honda Accord was reported in the 200 block of North Diamond Street.

 

Suspect Arrested for Alleged Assault

• At 2:50 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the 200 block of South Diamond Street and arrested Grecia J. Iniguez, 19, of Centralia on suspicion of fourth-degree assault.

 

Suspect Booked for Possession of Meth, Warrant

• At 7:45 p.m. Sunday, police responded to Silver and Walnut streets and arrested John D. Lopez, 38, of Centralia on suspicion of possession of meth and on a Chehalis Municipal Court warrant.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 247 inmates, with 212 in general population, 33 in the work ethic and restitution center and two on work release. Of general population inmates, 166 were male and 46 were female and of WERC inmates, 29 were male and four were female. A total of 37 inmates were booked through contracts outside Lewis County.
