Counterfeit Cash Reported

• At 8:57 a.m. on Wednesday, a business in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue reported someone used a fake $10 bill. 

Prosser Resident Arrested for Damage to Property Valued at More Than $8,000

• At 10:36 a.m. on Wednesday, police responded to the 3500 block of Steelhammer Drive and arrested Kyle A. Riel, 18, of Prosser on suspicion of first-degree malicious mischief. He was accused of damaging property including doors, walls and card-lock scanners. 

Suspect Cited for Theft of Blanket, TV

• At 12:51 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a report of a theft in the 1000 block of Eckerson Road. Megan R. L. Smith, 26, of Chehalis, was arrested and released on a citation for third-degree assault. 

Sexual Assault Reported

• At 1:05 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a sexual assault in the 1800 block of North Pearl Street. The case is under investigation. 

Credit Card Stolen From Vehicle

• At 2:26 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a theft of several items, including shoes and a wallet containing credit cards, from a vehicle in the 700 block of West Walnut Street. The credit cards were later used. The case is under investigation. 

Centralia Suspect Booked on Physical Control DUI

• At 3:06 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to the 400 block of West Summa Street and arrested Bobbie J. Bennke, 35, of Centralia, on suspicion of being in control of a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. 

Vehicle Prowl

• At 4:46 p.m. on Wednesday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 900 block of North Tower Avenue. Clothing and change were reported stolen. 

Suspects Accused of Stealing Baby Formula

• At 5:31 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a report of two suspects stealing baby formula from a business in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue. Jenny M. Hanna, 40, of Pacific, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail on a theft charge. A 26-year-old man was issued a court summons on a theft charge. 

Tire Slashed

• At 7:23 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report that a tire had been slashed in the 300 block of West Pine Street. 

Chehalis Police Department

Burglary Reported

• At 5:58 p.m. on Wednesday, a second-degree burglary was reported in the 400 block of Northeast Washington Avenue. 

Lewis County Jail Statistics

As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 214 inmates, with 183 in general population, 29 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center and two on work release. Of general population inmates, 148 were male and 35 were female and of WERC inmates, 26 were male and three female.
