Caller Reports Vandalism

• At 3:56 p.m. on Monday, a caller reported vandalism at a house under construction in the 800 block of Northwest Duffy Street.

Caller Reports Racist Comments

• At 9:24 p.m. on Monday, police received a report of a person walking through an alley Saturday in the 700 block of Northeast Cascade Avenue saying “white power” over and over. 

Possible Burglary, Home Invasion Reported

• At 2:54 a.m. on Tuesday, a caller in the 300 block of South Market Boulevard reported that somebody broke into his apartment while he was asleep. The caller reported that the suspect touched his leg while he was sleeping. 

Rape Reported

• At 10:02 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of possible rape in the past few months.

Man Arrested for Burglary

• Juan D.D. Chavez, 44, of Caldwell, Idaho, was arrested at 2:19 p.m. Tuesday in the 1600 block of Louisiana Avenue on suspicion of second-degree burglary. Chavez previously had been told not to return to the store, and is accused of stealing $98.77 in merchandise.

Two Vehicle Collision Reported in Chehalis

• At 7:13 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident near the intersection of Division Street and Washington Avenue. 

Pornography Report Under Investigation 

• At 8:45 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of pornography in the 600 block of Southwest William Avenue. The report is under investigation.

Suspicious Person Reported Hiding Under Car

• At 12:29 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a person lying underneath a car in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street.

Vehicle Prowl Reported

• At 1:14 p.m. on Wednesday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 1000 block of Southeast Ninth Street in Chehalis. The caller reported he was warming up the vehicle when someone broke into it.

Aggressive Panhandler Reported

• At 3:40 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a man sitting on a bench near a bank near the intersection of North Market Boulevard and Boistfort Road asking people for money and yelling at people when they walked by.

Caller Reports Vicious Dog

• At 8:27 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report that a dog in the 200 block of Southwest 14th Street bit another dog. 

 

Centralia Police Department

One Arrested, One Summoned on Domestic Violence Charges

• Dakota A. Shaff Montes, 23, of Centralia, was arrested at 7:29 a.m. Tuesday on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, in the 2800 block of Borst Avenue in Centralia. Roberto Carlos Montes-Eyes was also issued a summons for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.

Woman Arrested for Allegedly Having Stolen License Tabs

• Julie A. Rogers, 22, of Centralia, was arrested at 1:53 p.m. Tuesday on suspicion of possession of stolen property. She allegedly had license tabs from a stolen vehicle.

Robbery Reported

• At 11:31 p.m. Tuesday, officer responded to reports of a robbery in the 300 block of Courtland Street. The investigation is ongoing. 

Women Arrested for Suspected Domestic Violence

• Tina M. Wood, 30, of Centralia, was arrested at 10:08 p.m. on Wednesday in the 100 block of Virginia Drive on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.

• Jennifer L. Gutierrez, 36, of Centralia, was arrested at 11:35 p.m. Wednesday in the 1400 block of Harrison Avenue on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.

 

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

Man Arrested After Allegedly Assaulting Store Owner

• James A. McEnaney, 53, a transient, was arrested at 10:25 a.m. on Monday on suspicion of fourth-degree assault after allegedly hitting a man in the face at Blanton’s Market in Packwood. McEnaney entered the store, and the alleged victim, the 60-year-old owner of the shop, told him he was not welcome, according to the sheriff’s office. McEnaney is accused of punching the man in the eye, and tried to hit him two more times. When deputies arrived, two men were holding McEnaney down. McEnaney was charged Tuesday with second-degree burglary in Lewis County Superior Court and is being held on $10,000 bail.

Safe Stolen in Toledo Burglary

• The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating reports of a burglary between 4 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Monday in the 700 block of Smokey Valley Road in Toledo. The victim, a 42-year-old man, reported he returned home to find a safe filled with documents and silver coins had been stolen.

Cash Reported Stolen

• The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating reports that $2,200 in cash was stolen between Saturday and Monday from a fifth-wheel trailer in the 100 block of Duryea Road in Ethel. Investigators have identified a suspect.

$16,000 in Jewelry, Electronics, Guns Stolen in Burglary

• The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating reports of a burglary sometime during the day Tuesday in the 2300 block of Padrick Road in Centralia. According to the sheriff’s office, the home’s occupants, a 34-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man, came home at 5:45 p.m. after being gone since 10 a.m. to find the home ransacked. They reported $16,000 in jewelry, electronics and other items stolen. The suspects, identified by a witness as possibly being two men in their early 20s, entered the home by prying open a sliding glass door, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. They are also suspected of prying open two gun safes and stealing guns, including a handgun. 

Ring, Electronics, iPhone Stolen in Burglary

• The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of a burglary between July 18 and 22 in the 100 block of Workman Road in Mossyrock. A gold ring with three diamonds, a Blu-ray player, Xbox games, an iPhone 5 and a computer monitor were reported stolen.

Man Wrecks Motorcycle on Test Drive

• 47-year-old Covington man was cited at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday for driving with a suspended license, negligent driving and riding a motorcycle without a motorcycle endorsement after crashing a motorcycle he was test driving near the intersection of Ferrier and McGlaughlin roads near Winlock.

 

Washington State Patrol

Two Injured in Morton Motorcycle Crash

• Two West Virginia residents were injured Wednesday afternoon in a collision at the intersection of state Routes 12 and 7 in Morton. According to the State Patrol, a motorcycle was stopped at state Route 7 and made a left turn onto state Route 12. The driver, a 69-year-old man from Hinton, West Virginia, failed to yield to a semi truck. He swerved to avoid the truck but struck a guardrail. The driver and a passenger of the motorcycle, a 67-year-old woman, also from Hinton, were both injured and transported to Morton General Hospital.  

 

Fires

• At 3:05 p.m. on Wednesday, a brush fire was reported in the 1900 block of Centralia-Alpha Road in Chehalis.
