Sirens: Pet Ferret Stolen; Too Much Money for Craigslist Sale; Counterfeit Bills Passed

Centralia Police Department

Assault Citation 

• Lucas D. Bryan, 24, of Centralia, was cited for assault after officers responded to a dispute on the 400 block of North Tower Avenue in Centralia at 4:01 p.m. Monday.

Too Much Money

• Police received a report of a victim getting a check for items sold on Craigslist for more than the asking price at 3:55 p.m. Monday. The difference was returned and then the original check was returned. The incident is related to a 1500 block South Gold Street address in Centralia.

No Motor Vehicles Allowed

• An unknown person drove a vehicle into the walking path in Fort Borst Park in Centralia, damaging barriers. The hit and run crash was reported at

9:05 a.m. Monday.

Can I Get a Ride?

• Just before 4:30 p.m. Monday, medics responded to the Amtrak train station in Centralia to transport a drunken man who asked a Centralia Police officer for a ride, fell and hit his head on the patrol car, according to another officer on scene.

Bottle Toss

• Police cited Angela K. Schlueter, 37, of Rochester, for fourth-degree assault after she allegedly threw a beer bottle at a bartender on the 100 block of South Tower Avenue in Centralia at 6:21 p.m. Sunday. 

Fake Bills

• A restaurant on the 1000 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia reported a man and woman paid for food and drinks with three counterfeit $20 bills. The two showed California identification when buying the drinks at 2:28 p.m. Saturday. Police are investigating the case. 

Car Stolen

• Police received a report that a maroon 1994 Honda Accord was stolen from the 2800 block of Russell Road in Centralia between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Prowler Caught by Victim

• Johnny R. Cyr, 29, of Chehalis was arrested and booked for vehicle prowl after the owner of the vehicle caught Cry in the car on the 300 block of West Pear Street in Centralia at 9:12 a.m. Friday. 

Outlet Store Thief Caught

• Police arrested and booked Amber N. Fisher, 24, of Tacoma, for retail theft after she was allegedly caught stealing from several outlet stores on the 100 block of West High Street in Centralia at 12:10 p.m. Friday.

Underage DUI

• Zachery L. Chance, 19, of Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for suspicion of driving under the influence after he crashed his car into a curb on the 1600 block of Military Road in Centralia at 2:04 a.m. Saturday. Police cited and released Elijah R. Ross, 18, of Chehalis, who was a passenger in the vehicle, for minor in possession of alcohol. 

 

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

Chain Saw Taken 

• A Stihl chain saw was reported stolen from a business on the 2500 block of Sandra Avenue in Centralia. Wood boards used as siding were damaged by the suspects as well. The burglary occurred sometime between Dec. 26 and 29. 

Wire Stolen

• Fifty feet of copper wire was reported stolen from a telecommunications company on the 2400 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia between midnight and 8 a.m. Sunday. The burglary is under investigation.

Burglar Possibly Stole Pet Ferret 

• When a Chehalis family returned to their home on the 200 block of Lake Creek Road after a trip, they discovered that $2,400 worth of items and possibly their pet ferret, which had not been located, had been stolen. The burglary occurred between Dec. 22 and 28. A rifle, a shotgun, two TVs, a tablet, a laptop and diamond and pearl earrings were missing from the home. There was no sign of forced entry. The suspect is believed to have entered through an unsecure dining room window. The case is under investigation. 

 

Morton Police Department

Video Shows Man Stealing Beer From Truck

• Police cited and released Steven T. Howell, 63, of Morton, for second-degree criminal trespassing, second-degree vehicle prowl and third-degree theft at 12:53 p.m. on Dec. 22. Surveillance video showed Howell allegedly took a six-pack of beer from the bed of a pickup on the property of a business on which he was trespassing on.

Family Dispute Puts One in Jail

• Kimberly N. Mathis, 19, of Morton was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault after an altercation with a family member at her home at 4:10 p.m. Saturday.
