Centralia Police Department

Burglary Reported

• At 12:40 p.m. on Tuesday, a burglary was reported in the 900 block of South Tower Avenue. Multiple items were reported stolen from a locked shed. 

Hit and Run

• At 12:44 p.m. on Tuesday, a hit and run in a parking lot was reported in the 600 block of North Tower Avenue. 

Woman Shoplifts from Grocery Store, Flees

• At 3:02 p.m. on Tuesday, a shoplifter was reported in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue. A woman reportedly took grocery items without paying and fled in a vehicle. 

Men Steal Wallet, Attempt to Use Credit Cards

• At 3:47 p.m. on Tuesday, a wallet was reported stolen in the 200 block of West Center Street. Two men reportedly took the wallet off a desk. The victim reported someone then attempted to use his credit cards in Tumwater.  

Bluetooth Speaker Stolen

• At 10:27 p.m. on Tuesday, a bluetooth speaker was reported stolen from the 1700 block of Harrison Avenue. 

DUI

• At 4:47 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a report of vehicle crash in a parking lot. The driver, Ronald W. Justice, 72, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. 

Vehicle Hits Pedestrian

• At 4:05 p.m. on Thursday, a vehicle versus pedestrian collision was reported in the 600 block of West Maple Street. Minor injuries were reported.

Assault Reported

• At 4:12 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of a fourth-degree assault that occurred in the past few days in the 700 block of Harrison Avenue. 

Vehicle Drives on Lawn

• At 6:02 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of a vehicle driving on a lawn in the 1200 block of Royal Avenue, causing damage to grass. The case is under investigation. 

Suspect Arrested on Warrant, Identity Theft

• At 8:33 p.m. on Thursday, police responded to the 500 block of Hamilton Avenue and arrested Nicholas A. Huston, 25, 

of Chehalis, on a state Department of Corrections Warrant. He was also arrested for allegedly providing a false name to the arresting officer. 

Toledo Man Arrested For Obstruction After He was Contacted for Jaywalking

• At 10:07 p.m. on Thursday, police contacted a man in the 100 block of West Magnolia Street for allegedly jaywalking. The man reportedly refused to identify himself. Jesse J. Wallace, 25, of Toledo, was arrested on suspicion of obstructing an officer. 

Chehalis Police Department

Scam Reported

• At 3:19 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of a scam in the 800 block of Southwest 21st Street. A woman reported she got a call from a person threatening to have her arrested. The woman did not fall for the scam. 

Thefts

• At 6:41 p.m. on Tuesday, a third-degree theft was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

• At 11:16 a.m. a second-degree theft was reported in the 800 block of Southwest 19th Street. 

• At 9:39 a.m., a third-degree theft was reported in the 600 block of Northwest Arkansas Way. A person reportedly took $45 in merchandise. 

Burglaries

• At 6:41 p.m. on Tuesday, a burglary was reported at an abandoned home in the 2100 block of Southwest Salisbury Avenue. A window was broken and a garage door was broken. 

• At 10:10 a.m. on Wednesday, a burglary was reported in the 2000 block of Southwest Salisbury Avenue. 

• At 9:26 a.m. on Wednesday, a burglary was reported in the 600 block of Northwest State Avenue. 

Counterfeit Cash

• At 9:12 a.m. on Wednesday, counterfeit cash was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

Trespasser Reported at Taco Del Mar

• At 12:38 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a report of a trespasser in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at Taco Del Mar. Henry T. Baker, 59, a transient, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree criminal trespass. 

Assaults Reported

• At 2:26 p.m. on Thursday, a fourth-degree assault was reported in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street. The suspect reportedly left the area. No arrests were made.

• At 3:54 p.m. on Thursday, an assault between juvenile brothers was reported in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street. No arrests were made. One of the juveniles is being referred to juvenile court for charges. 

Unlawful Communication with a Minor Reported

• At 9:58 a.m. on Thursday, police responded to a report of unlawful communication with a minor on East Main Street. No further information was reported. 

Centralia Woman Cited on Shoplifting Charge

• At 3:52 p.m. on Thursday, police responded to a report of a shoplifter in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. Amanda J. Smiley, 27, of Centralia, was cited on suspicion of third-degree theft. She was accused of hiding items in her purse. 

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

Motorcycle Stolen After Rider Runs Out of Gas

• At 12:49 p.m. on Tuesday, a 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle was reported stolen at the intersection of Conrad and Pleasant Valley roads in Winlock. The victim reported he ran our of gas and parked on the side of the road. When the rider returned with gasoline, the motorcycle was gone. The case is under investigation.

 

Bicycles Valued at $10,000 Stolen from Glenoma Property

• At 7:17 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies responded to a report of a theft of three mountain bicycles — one Cannondale and two Sentinels — valued together at about $10,000. The bikes were chained to a lean-to on the property. 

Tools, ATV, Generator Stolen in Salkum Burglary

• On Wednesday, deputies responded to a burglary that occurred between Sunday and Wednesday in the 100 block of Sheila Drive in Salkum. A Stihl chainsaw, Honda ATV, Snap-On impact gun, Coleman generator and a gas can, valued together at about $3,700, were taken from a shed. 

Mower, Generator Stolen in Onalaska Burglary

• At 5:29 p.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to a report of a burglary in the past week in the 100 block of Johnson Road in Onalaska. A Briggs & Stratton generator and a push mower were stolen and a door was damaged. 

Lewis County Jail Statistics

• As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 216 inmates, with 181 in general population, 33 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center and two on work release. Of general population inmates, 150 were male and 31 were female and of WERC inmates, 29 were male and four female. A total of 32 inmates were booked through contracts with agencies outside Lewis County.
