Lewis County Jail Statistics

• As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 223 inmates, with 196 in general population and 24 in the work ethic and restitution center. Of general population inmates, 161 were male and 35 were female and of WERC inmates, 22 were male and two female. Three inmates were on work release. A total of 39 inmates were booked through contracts with agencies outside Lewis County.

 

Chehalis Police Department

Vehicle Prowl

• At 7:49 a.m. on Wednesday, police responded to the 400 block of North Market Boulevard to a report of a person in a vehicle that didn’t belong to them. Alicia L. Wilks, 40, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree vehicle prowl.

Suspicious Person Lies Down in Parking Lot

• At 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a suspicious and incoherent woman lying down in the entrance to a bank’s parking lot in the 200 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue. The woman’s legs were reportedly in the street. No arrests were made. 

Trespasser Reported

• At 3:49 p.m. on Wednesday, a trespasser was reported in the 2600 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue. No arrests were made. 

Motorcycle Stolen

• At 4:57 p.m. on Wednesday, a 2002 Honda Shadow 600 motorcycle was reported stolen in the 500 block of North Market Boulevard. 

Hit and Run

• At 2:53 p.m. on Thursday, a hit and run was reported in the 700 block of Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way.  

Disorderly Conduct

• At 2:54 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of disorderly conduct in the 400 block of South Market Street. A man was allegedly squatting outside, throwing and eating paper and “flipping off” passersby. No arrests were made. 

 

Centralia Police Department

Cash Stolen in Burglary at Business

• At 9:55 a.m. on Wednesday, a burglary was reported to a business in the 1600 block of South Gold Street. Cash was stolen. 

Vehicle Prowl

• At 9:56 a.m. on Wednesday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 1000 block of Roosevelt Avenue in Centralia. Household items were taken. 

Clothing Shoplifted

• At 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday, clothing was reported stolen from a retail store in the 1400 block of Lum Road. 

Hit and Run

• At 4:04 p.m. on Wednesday, a hit and run damaging a parked vehicle was reported at the intersection of Pearl and Pine streets. 

Transient Arrested on Assault Charges

• At 5:18 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to the 900 block of South Scheuber Road and arrested Kelly A. Holen, 34, a transient, on suspicion of two counts of fourth-degree assault and on suspicion of interfering with a health-care facility. 

Drug Charges

• At 5:59 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to the 100 block of Harrison Avenue and arrested Leona V. Rowlan, 34, of Centralia, on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine. She is also being referred to prosecutors on suspicion of assaulting a man. 

• At 7:59 p.m. on Thursday, police responded to the 1300 block of Lum Road and arrested Garrett J. Dempsey, 29, of Everett, on suspicion of third-degree theft and possession of methamphetamine after being contacted on suspicion of stealing items from a store. 

Woman Issued Summons on Suspicion of Assault on Roommate 

• At 9:24 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a report of an assault in the 500 block of South Silver Street. A 29-year-old Centralia woman was issued a court summons on a charge of fourth-degree assault for allegedly assaulting a roommate. 

Juvenile Booked for Assault

• At 9:14 p.m. on Wednesday, a juvenile female was arrested in the 500 block of East Magnolia Street on suspicion of assaulting her brother. She was booked into the Lewis County juvenile detention center.

Man Booked on Malicious Mischief Charge

• At 10:58 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to the 400 block of Girard Street and arrested Humberto Mendoza-Farias, 24, of Centralia on suspicion of third-degree malicious mischief. He was accused of breaking a woman’s belongings. 

Mount Vernon Man Booked on Burglary, ID Theft Charges

• At 11:23 a.m. on Thursday, police responded to the 100 block of West High Street and arrested Robert D. Baldwin, Jr., 34, of Mount Vernon, on suspicion of second-degree burglary and identity theft. He was accused of going behind the counter of a business and stealing items. He allegedly lied about his identity when questioned. 

Burglaries Reported at Businesses

• At 8:44 a.m. on Thursday, an attempted burglary to a business was reported in the 400 block of South Tower Avenue. The case is under investigation. 

• At 2:02 a.m. on Friday, a burglary was reported at a business in the 400 block of South Tower Avenue. 

• At 6:33 a.m. on Friday, a burglary was reported at a business in the 100 block of East Maple Street. 

Cellphone Stolen

• At 12:59 p.m. on Thursday, a cellphone was reported stolen in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road. 

Attempted Sock Thief Reported

• At 7:34 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of an attempted theft of socks in the 1300 block of Lum Road.
