CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Police Alerted to Malicious Mischief

• At 9:28 a.m. Wednesday, police received a report from the 300 block of West Pine Street indicating a car had been keyed 

Man Steals Pants from Store

• At 9:47 a.m. Wednesday, police issued a summons to Darrin L. Miles, 46, of Chehalis, to appear in court on suspicion of committing theft in the third degree after allegedly stealing a pair of pants from a store in the 100 block of West High Street.

Police Arrest Man on Suspicion of Breaking Family Member’s Tooth

• At 1:48 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 900 block of Ham Hill Road and arrested Tony A. Watson, 60, of Centralia on suspicion of committing assault in the second degree and possession of meth. Watson allegedly broke a family member’s tooth during an assault, and police reported finding a meth pipe on his person as he was being taken into custody.

Vehicle Windows Shattered

• At 3:58 p.m. Wednesday, police received a report from the 100 block of South Oak Street indicating a vehicle’s window had been broken.

• At 2:02 a.m. Thursday, police received a report from the 700 block of G Street indicating a vehicle’s window had been broken.

 Man Allegedly Throws Person to the Ground

• At 6:21 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 900 block of G Street and arrested Taven B. Albright, 22, of Centralia on suspicion of committing assault in the fourth degree after allegedly throwing a person out of a house and onto the ground.

Officers Investigating Robbery Allegations

• At 2:47 a.m. Thursday, police responded to the 1000 block of Eckerson Road to investigate a reported robbery. A transient male reported another transient male had stolen a belonging under threat of assault.

Theft

• At 12:31 p.m. Thursday, the theft of two cases of beer was reported in the 1000 block of Ellsbury Street.

Man Caught Driving with Suspended License

• At 9:01 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 1800 block of Cooks Hill Road and arrested Vernon E. Sigby, 51, of Rainier on suspicion of committing driving while license suspended in the first degree.

Man to Be Charged with Malicious Mischief

• At 6:20 a.m. Friday, officers responded to the 900 block of Scheuber Road, and noted that information will be sent to the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office for a charge against Mario S. Rodriguez, 25, of Chehalis for malicious mischief in the second degree.

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Police Assist in Removing Squatter

• At 9:06 a.m. Wednesday, police were requested to arrive at the 200 block of Southwest 14th Street to assist removing a squatter off of the caller’s property. 

Suspicious Person in the Courthouse

• At 10:13 a.m. Wednesday, police received a report of a male walking around the second floor of the courthouse in the 300 block of Northwest North Street. The caller advised getting “a bad vibe off of him.”

Tools Stolen

• At 4:16 p.m. Wednesday, the theft of a drill combo set, valued at $400, was reported in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

Transients Camp on Caller’s Property

• At 4:55 p.m. Wednesday, police received a report of four transients and a dog camping on the caller’s property in the 500 block of Northwest Front Street. The caller advised they had been there for about five hours and were doing “shady” things. 

Man Tells Kids He Has a Gun, Asked Them To Go “Do Fun Things”

• At 5:23 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street in reference to a caller reporting a kid approached a few kids at Penny Playground and asked them to go “do fun things.” The man told the kids he had a gun. One of the kids took a video of the man with a cell phone, and it depicted a white male wearing a blue Los Angeles Dodgers hat, shorts and sporting a handlebar mustache.

 Tree Falls on Unoccupied Vehicle

• At 5:08 p.m. Wednesday, police received a report of a large tree falling on a vehicle in a parking lot in the 1500 block of Rice Road.

Suspicious Vehicle Occupied by “Drunk or Drugged” Man

• At 7:46 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 600 block of West Main Street in reference to a caller reporting a parked red truck. The truck’s driver appeared “drunk or drugged” reported the caller. The truck had been there for over five hours.

Individuals Found Passed Out in Car

• At 8:30 a.m. Thursday, police responded to the 100 block of Southwest Insterstate Avenue for a report of a car with three people inside, some of them appearing to be passed out. The report also indicated a “girl half naked curled up in ball in passenger seat.” No arrests were reported.

Woman Arrested on Assault Charge

• At 10:16 a.m. Thursday, police responded to the 1900 block of Southeast Magnolia Drive and arrested Miranda R. Goble, 20, of Chehalis on suspicion of committing assault in the fourth degree.

 Shed Vandalized Overnight

• At 12:52 p.m. Thursday, police received a report of damage done to a shed overnight in the 700 block of Northwest Maryland Avenue.

LEWIS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

Campers Report Missing Person

At 6:54 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to the 900 block of Forest Road 23 in Randle in response to a missing person. There, a camping group indicated one of their members, Sokhoeun Lek, 35, of Lakewood wandered off from the group and couldn’t be found. Deputies searched the area, and learned that Lek had a history of wandering off, and Search and Rescue crews were not brought in to search. Anyone with possible information with Lek’s whereabouts are asked to call the sheriff’s office.

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 224 inmates with 188 in general population and 36 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center. Of general population inmates, 145 were male and 43 were female and of WERC inmates, 30 were male and six were female. A total of 40 inmates were booked through contracts with agencies outside Lewis County.
