Sirens: Man Cited, Released for Indecent Exposure; Caller Reports Theft on Neighbor’s Porch; Man Seen Trying to Pick Lock to Public Bathroom

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Counterfeit Bill Reported

• At 1:10 p.m. Wednesday, a caller in the 1000 block of Harrison Avenue reported a person passed a fake $100 bill at a local business. 

Man Cited, Released for Indecent Exposure

• At 2:04 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 800 block of Field Avenue and arrested and released a 35-year-old Centralia man on suspicion of indecent exposure after the man allegedly defecated in front of multiple people. 

Two Arrested for Assault

• At 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 1000 block of South Tower Avenue and arrested Mariah L.S. Parker 28, of Centralia on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence and arrested and released a 31-year-old Centralia resident on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence.

Drivers Cited for Suspended License

• At 10:13 a.m. Thursday, police responded to the 200 block of Harrison Avenue and cited a 32-year-old Centralia resident on suspicion of driving on a suspended license.

• At 11:41 a.m. Thursday, police responded to the 1600 block of Harrison Avenue and cited a 48-year-old Randle resident on suspicion of driving on a suspended license and without an ignition interlock device.

Assault Suspect Booked

• At 2:37 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 1500 block of Lewis Street and arrested David M. Whittingham, 48, of Chehalis on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence.

Business Burglarized

• At 3:53 p.m. Thursday, a burglary was reported in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road. Numerous items were stolen.

Theft

• At 3:53 p.m. Thursday, a theft of household items was reported in the 400 block of West Magnolia Street.

Police Report Finding Drugs During Search

• At 5:25 p.m. Thursday, police responded to South Street and Long Road and arrested Cory L. Hughes, 26, of Chehalis on multiple warrants and on suspicion of possession of meth and heroin. Police say they found the drugs during a search.

Suspect Arrested, Released for Trespassing

• At 1:55 a.m. Friday, police responded to the 900 block of H Street and arrested Adam T. Kay, 36, of Chehalis on suspicion of first-degree criminal trespass after Kay allegedly entered a residence without permission and didn’t leave when asked.

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Vehicle Windows Broken

• At 9:18 p.m. Wednesday, a caller in the 1500 block of Rice Road reported a vehicle with the windshield broken out.

Caller Reports Theft on Neighbor’s Porch

• At 11:23 p.m. Wednesday, a caller in the 1000 block of Northwest Prindle Street reported a man walked onto their neighbor’s porch and stole something, before driving off in a dark-colored truck.

Assault Reported

• At 2:52 p.m. Thursday, a caller in the 100 block of Northeast Hampe Way reported witnessing an assault. 

Teen Seen Standing in Middle of Road

• At 3:57 p.m. Thursday, a caller at 16th and Prospect streets reported seeing a boy, approximately 17 years old, standing in the middle of the road, appearing “dazed.”

Man Seen Trying to Pick Lock to Public Bathroom

• At 8:54 p.m. Thursday, a caller at Market Boulevard and Front Street reported a man apparently trying to pick a lock to a public bathroom. The caller advised the bathrooms are locked  during the evening hours. 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 220 inmates, with 186 in general population, 33 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center and one on work release. Of general population inmates, 154 were men and 32 were women and of WERC inmates, 27 were men and six were women. A total of 28 inmates were booked through contracts with agencies outside Lewis County.
